Founded in 1954, the college was originally a history department, and later developed into a school of historical geography, political history, history department, history and culture. At the end of 2009, after the reform of the school's internal management system, it was renamed the School of History and Society. There are 47 faculty members in the college, including professors 12, associate professors 14, doctors and doctors in study 13, of which 1 is the winner of the State Council government allowance and the academic and technical leader in Chongqing, and two are the reserve candidates for municipal academic and technical leaders. Teachers come from more than ten universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Lanzhou University, Sichuan University, Wuhan University, Jilin University, Zhejiang University, Northwest University, Anhui Normal University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Southwest University of Political Science and Law, and Southwest University, forming a contingent of teachers with reasonable age, education and professional title structure.
