According to Baidu Encyclopedia, Huafan University in New Taipei City, Taiwan Province Province was founded in 1990 by Master Shi Xiaoyun, a Buddhist figure. This is a private university and college.

The school takes "Fan Hua" as its name, aiming to show 5,000 years of Chinese culture and 2,000 years of China Buddhism, serve the people with professional skills and guide the society with noble morality.
