Who did Washington and Li Daxue look for among the candidates?
We are looking for an excellent team of 460-470 students. They are full of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning and will be active in our class. They will do well in sports and art, they will produce high-quality newspapers and magazines, and they will join more than 65,438+000 clubs and student organizations in our campus.
Academic performance: The most important part of the application is your daily record-which courses you attended and how well you performed in these courses. We are looking for students who have achieved excellent results in the most challenging courses. It is recommended that you take English, mathematics, laboratory science and social science and a world language course for four or more years. In addition to the core subjects, take "academic" elective courses, which will help your overall study rigor, not those courses that make you work and rest.
Extracurricular activities: In reviewing the application, besides your academic achievements, a wide range of non-academic factors, as well as your personal background and community environment will also be considered. Therefore, your extracurricular activities will be reviewed, which may include school clubs, community service projects, work or family responsibilities.
Standardized scores: Although it is true that standardized test scores are considered in the applicant review process, the school knows that students are not only the sum of their scores (for the applicants of the class of 2026, submitting test scores is optional). That's why the review process will consider the score, not the only determinant of your application.
