Guangdong Ocean University (hereinafter referred to as Guangdong Haida University) is a provincial comprehensive university with the characteristics of marine aquatic products and the coordinated development of multiple disciplines approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

Guangdong Ocean University, formerly Shantou Advanced Fisheries Vocational School, was founded in 1935.
