Guangdong Ocean University (hereinafter referred to as Guangdong Haida University) is a provincial comprehensive university with the characteristics of marine aquatic products and the coordinated development of multiple disciplines approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Natural Resources.

It is an excellent institution for undergraduate teaching level evaluation by the Ministry of Education, a key discipline construction institution of high-level universities in Guangdong Province, and the cradle of marine talents training in South China. Guangdong Ocean University, formerly Shantou Advanced Fisheries Vocational School, was founded in 1935. After several relocations, it was renamed Zhanjiang Fisheries College in June 1963, and upgraded to an undergraduate college directly under the Ministry of Agriculture in September 1979, and renamed Zhanjiang Fisheries College. 1997 65438+ 10, Zhanjiang Fisheries College and Zhanjiang Agricultural College merged to form Zhanjiang Ocean University.
