Foshan University is Foshan Institute of Science and Technology, and it is two universities. It is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a high-level science and engineering university in Guangdong Province with a history of more than 60 years and the right to award master's degrees.

The school originated from Foshan Teachers College and Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College founded by 1958. Later, Foshan Teachers College was renamed Foshan Teachers College. 1February, 986, Foshan University was founded on the basis of Foshan Teachers College; Foshan Branch of South China Agricultural College has also been renamed as Foshan Veterinary College and Foshan Agriculture and Animal Husbandry College. 1In March 1995, Foshan University and Foshan College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry merged to form Foshan College of Science and Technology, which was upgraded to an undergraduate course.
