Historical background and school-running level: Suzhou University is a 2 1 1 university, a double-class university, which originated from Soochow University in 1900. Suzhou University of Science and Technology was formed by the merger of Suzhou Institute of Urban Construction and Environmental Protection and Suzhou Railway Teachers College in 20001year. It is an ordinary undergraduate school of science and engineering.

Campus setting: Suzhou University has four campuses: Tianci Village, Dushu Lake, Yangcheng Lake and Future, covering an area of 4,586 mu, with a building area of 1.59 million square meters. Suzhou University of Science and Technology has three campuses, namely Shihu, Jiangfeng and Tianping, covering an area of 2,300 mu.
