How to evaluate past lives of Mathematics College of Jilin University?
The Department of Mathematics of Jilin University was established on the basis of the functional, algebraic and topological teaching and research section of basic mathematics. The major of basic mathematics was founded in 1952. At that time, the national colleges and universities were adjusted, and the state selected a group of famous mathematicians with Professor Wang, Professor Jiang Zejian, Professor Xie Bangjie as the core to set up the Mathematics Department of Jilin University, and basic mathematics was one of the first mathematics majors. For a long time, several mathematicians have always adhered to a solid and rigorous style of study and actively carried out mathematical research and education. They have not only trained a large number of outstanding mathematical talents for the country, but also undertaken a number of national scientific research projects, achieved a number of influential teaching and scientific research achievements at home and abroad, and won many national, provincial and ministerial awards, making important contributions to China's mathematical research and education. Through the efforts of several algebras, the basic mathematics of Jilin University has had an important influence in China. Basic mathematics became the first doctoral program in China on 198 1 and was approved as a national key discipline on 1988.

There are 26 teachers in the Department of Basic Mathematics, including 7 professors, 5 associate professors, 5 doctoral supervisors and 0/3 doctors. His main research interests are: functional analysis, algebra and topology. He studied under Professor Jiang Zejian, Professor Xie Bangjie and Professor Sun Yifeng respectively.

The research fields of functional analysis include operator algebra, operator theory, function theory, complex geometry and so on. There are 2 doctoral students and 8 master students.

The research fields of algebra include ring theory, commutative ring theory, linear algebra, computational algebra, polynomial automorphism, algebraic theory of coding and cryptography, etc. There are 6 doctoral students and 4 master students.

The research fields of topology include topology, topological dynamical system, ergodic theory, fractal geometry, set-valued analysis and so on. There are 7 doctoral students and 3 master students.

Both the Department of Basic Mathematics and the Department of Applied Mathematics are responsible for the teaching and discipline construction of "Mathematics and Applied Mathematics" for undergraduates. The undergraduate courses undertaken by the Department of Mathematics mainly include advanced algebra, algebra and geometry, analytic geometry, real variable function, complex variable function, functional analysis, abstract algebra, topology and differential geometry.
