Many cities are disposable, but I still have to think about which provincial capital makes me want to buy again and again.
First of all, there are ethnic minorities living here and far away in the southwest, and the local customs will be more mysterious and surprising to foreign tourists.
Second, Yunnan's tourism resources are really super rich. Local girls told me that locals are not very good at traveling out of the province on holidays. There should be scenery and people here. Perhaps the only fly in the ointment is that there is no sea. God opened the door and closed the window for you.
Historically, Yunnan was once the capital of the country. As we all know, the prince of Dali described by Jin Yong is actually located in the ancient city of Dali, a once brilliant political center in history.
There is no shortage of ancient towns in Yunnan, and the buildings are well preserved. It's quite appetizing for an ancient town fan like me. Seeing these scenes, time began to slow down automatically.
0 1- Kunming is worth visiting.
If you land in Kunming, I still suggest you leave it for a few days. This is not a boring city. There are several places where you will find Kunming interesting:
The first one is around Cuihu Lake. It is said that life in Yunnan is slow. Take a walk around the Cuihu Lake and see the leisurely energy of the local people, and you will understand everything.
The second is Kunming Old Street. Nowadays, many places advertising old streets are actually not easy to visit, and there is nothing new in the shops. However, it is indeed a place where treasures can be excavated. It's delicious and easy to visit.
The third is the new farmer's market of Daguan Brick. Market is life, probably the place closest to local people's life, and it can also be a happy paradise for tourists.
02- Is there any interesting place south of Kunming?
Puzhehei
You can think of Puzhehei as a playground in nature, because there are 265 scenic spots, including mountains, rivers, lakes, wetlands and caves.
You have to pay attention to the route of the game. The most interesting thing is that the tour is basically by boat, which is leisurely enough.
In addition to playing, eating and living, you can arrange it in a scenic spot and enjoy a small life isolated from the city. Moreover, because this area is the gathering place of Miao and Zhuang nationalities, the unique food of ethnic minorities is easy to get.
Jianshui
It's not just food hidden in Jianshui. There are six famous historical cities in Yunnan Province, and Jianshui Ancient City is one of them, which is as famous as Dali and Lijiang. The commercial atmosphere of the ancient city is not strong, and many residents still live in it. People must join the quaint atmosphere to have aura.
The Chaoyang building at the east gate is called the sister version of Tiananmen Square. Stepping into this door, more than 50 ancient buildings and houses take us back to the past. Like the Forbidden City, they are evidence of prosperity here.
@ridamuji
Jianshui has two business districts: Ancient City and Zitao Street. Jianshui Zitao is one of the four famous pottery in China. Friends who usually like to make tea can come here to find tea sets. I think Jianshui is like an old man full of poetry but unwilling to make public. He obviously has good skills, but he is willing to live a plain life and enjoy himself.
Xishuangbanna
Xishuangbanna, whose latitude is close to Hainan, is called Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, so the tropical plant landscape and ethnic customs here are the most attractive.
Tropical Botanical Garden of Chinese Academy of Sciences is a place where you have to punch in. You can sit in a hot air balloon and overlook the magical plants that you have never heard of or seen. The wonder of nature is realized at this moment.
Primitive forest park is also a similar scenic spot. It should be quite exciting to walk in the air corridor between trees and look at the sky. There are also ethnic minorities living near the park, and those residents are the people who really live on the green planet.
@ Yezi's Travel
Visiting the night market is the happiest thing in Xishuangbanna at night. Starlight night market, rainforest night market, Gaozhuang night market ... Looking for food to join in the fun, the purest local customs are actually in these stalls.
Yunnan is a holy place for tea production. When they eat in a restaurant, the tea they make is not expensive, but it is really delicious.
If you like tea, you can also consider going to Jingmai and Pu 'er, going deep into the mountains and forests and seeing those ancient tea trees.
There is a An Baili in Jingmai, which opens directly in the ancient tea garden. Open the window in the morning, there are mountains and rivers, plants, birds and insects. This quiet atmosphere is really elegant enough.
Are there any interesting places in the north of Kunming?
Dali
The ancient city of Dali has a noisy side after commercial development, but after several turns, there are still many charming corners where you can see the living conditions of Shu Lang.
If you want to observe the most authentic local life, the vegetable market will never let you down. In the two vegetable markets hidden in the north and south of the ancient city, you can see the famous scenes of various ingredients competing with each other, which makes people feel extremely comfortable.
Visiting the south gate of the vegetable market, the green jade farmer's market is very pocket-sized, but there are too many authentic snacks.
Pouring chicken feet, Dai snacks, rice rolls, grilled fish ... dangling in it, your hands will unconsciously be filled with all kinds of special snacks.
In contrast, the North Gate Farmers' Market will be much bigger. The central area is home to buy raw cooked food and chicken, duck and fish. Going out, all kinds of stalls on the extended path are also worth stopping.
The fungus season is coming, and you can see a lot of fungus. Although boletus, termitomyces, tremella and shiitake mushrooms are all silly and indistinguishable, they are enough to see a novelty and excitement.
In this vegetable market, you can also buy many seasonal flowers, including lotus flowers in summer and wintersweet. The romance of Dali is unobstructed.
Dali ganji
Dali is a lover's paradise in my heart. I also sorted out some common markets for you. If you want to find the most lively Dali, you have to run here.
March street market is also the most frequently mentioned in everyone's travel plan.
It was originally a Bai temple fair from March 15 to 2 1 day of the lunar calendar every year, and later it gradually evolved into a market held regularly every month. The four days of the second day, the ninth day, the sixteenth day and the twenty-third day of each month are the days to catch big episodes, almost every seven days.
Almost all the people who come to the fair live in the surrounding villages, and they also sell authentic things such as broken ears, dipped in water, herbs, fried potatoes and baked milk fans.
The foreigner street market has become a must-see attraction in Dali ancient city. The stalls are all craftsmen who have settled in Dali. Here you can find many treasures that are not available on Taobao.
The Bedsheet Factory Art District is the most literary place in the ancient city of Dali, a modern art complex transformed from abandoned Bedsheet Factory. There will be a market every Saturday and Sunday. If you want to go, you can pay attention to the official WeChat account of the sheet factory in advance to avoid running empty.
It attracts many artists, craftsmen, writers, musicians and photographers. Even if there is no market, you can find all kinds of interesting handicraft shops, bookstores, galleries and cafes every day.
Elk planet art block, next to the east side of Dali ancient city. Its predecessor was the famous Li Project. It was changed with containers, and it was basically stored for a long time.
The open space next to it is a place to go to the market every weekend afternoon, where craftsmen will set up stalls. Opening time: every Friday and Saturday 15:00-22:30.
Dali periphery
Tea-horse ancient road Fengyang ancient road Fengyang ancient road is not particularly famous. I remember a few years ago, I found it because of the guidance of local friends.
Fengyang Post, as a section of the ancient tea-horse road, was built in Han Dynasty and formed in Nanzhao Dali Kingdom. Caravans coming and going in ancient times stopped here, and they stamped out a road of foreign trade. Now you can still see the horse stone in the middle of the road, polished like a mirror by the reciprocating footprints.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Photographers, writers, painters and ceramists from all over the world are attracted to live here, and many handicraft shops, homestays, dye houses, cafes and boutique bars have been opened. Tradition and fashion grow together in this land. Is it tacit understanding? The small shops here are quietly hidden between villages, which requires patience and slow exploration.
The Xiaguan where Fengyang Post is located (Xiaguan in Xiaguan Wind Shangguanhua Cangshan Snow Erhai Moon) is more than ten kilometers away from the ancient city and is the city center in the hearts of local people. If you want to see the comfortable life of the local people, you can pass by here again. Shimonoseki is also a very dense place with delicious old shops. There is even a saying that finding a shop at Shimonoseki is much more delicious than the ancient city.
The foraging here can be aimed at Longweiguan site and Xiaguan No.1 Middle School and No.4 Middle School. There are many authentic food stalls and time-honored brands here, such as Wei Long snacks (the "pork skin sashimi" of the Bai nationality: raw skin), Shimonoseki Lee's roasted brine (a 30-year-old brand, recommended shredded bait, rice flour and barbecue), Nanjian flavor snacks (recommended shredded bait, rice flour and mala Tang), raw traditional hand-rubbed bait blocks (white rice bait blocks with meat sauce) and Yangbi.
Xizhou
In a few days in Dali, you must take time to go to Xizhou.
Xizhou is not big, but it is absolutely passable.
It used to be an important financial center and one of the birthplaces of Dali culture. Perhaps it is thanks to this unique cultural environment that people can inherit in this soil.
"Xizhou Town is a miracle. I can't remember, I have seen such a decent town in a remote place in China ... "Lao She's description in" Travel Notes in Yunnan "was impressive after I saw Xizhou. This small town between mountains and rivers is really a paradise.
Xizhou ancient town is not big. Just stroll around, and you can walk seven, seven, eight, eight in one afternoon. I recommend a city stroll route for your reference: Zhengyimen-Sifang Street Building -Xi Lin Yuan-Xizhou Paddy Field-Yan Jia Courtyard.
The sky in Xizhou is blue, and the white walls are carefully painted with blue flower patterns. The stone road is circuitous, clean and refreshing. Bai architecture with carved beams and painted buildings can be seen everywhere here, with cornices of archways and elegant atmosphere. Wood carvings of birds, animals, plants and trees on the upper floor of Dougong Beam are painted with vivid colors such as stone green, ochre red, khaki and vermilion.
Xizhou people advocate white as new, often painting the exterior walls and carefully repairing the houses, so that they will be as new as ever. Of course, a more leisurely way to open it is to stay, walk slowly and find it.
Xizhou is very tolerant. Here you can eat authentic food, Xizhou Baba, the spokesman of Xizhou cuisine, is a must, and there are all kinds of Yunnan snacks: cold chicken rice noodles, roasted bait blocks, roasted breast fans, rice shrimp, pea powder, yangbi curly powder, flower cakes, wrapped tofu ... waiting in line to feed you.
At the same time, Xizhou is not only traditional, but also its openness and tolerance have attracted many strangers to settle here. They have opened novel hotels, cafes, bakeries and sweet water shops in Xizhou ... The products are not bad, and there is no need to worry about derailing the living habits in Xizhou.
Shaxi ancient town
Three hours' drive from Dali, there are many ancient towns in China, but they are still beautiful.
It is a thousand-year-old market that survived on the ancient tea-horse road, and it is a place of products and food that once excited the caravan forever.
Shaxi was once famous for being listed in the world architectural heritage protection list, but the local government did not take the old road of traditional tourism development, insisted on the principle of repairing the old as the old, and strictly screened the commercial forms, which preserved a real Shaxi for us.
Shaxi ancient town has retained its ancient meaning in the pattern. There are no noisy bars, and there are no uniform specialty stores. On the contrary, there are many small shops with craftsman spirit, which are worth exploring.
Cosmic bread (business hours are erratic, and there are many bags of alkaline water), crow coffee (coffee ceiling in the ancient town), hedgehog coffee, seeing Shaxi at first sight (experiencing authentic Bai cuisine) and going to a tea shop for tea (with tea, coffee and special drinks) are all treasure shops we have been to.
Shaxi Ancient Town is very small, and the two most conspicuous scenic spots in it are the ancient stage (the most distinctive landmark building on Sifang Street) and Xingjiao Temple (located in the center of Sifang Street Square in the ancient town, famous for its murals in the Ming Dynasty), which is the only White Buddha Temple in China in the Ming Dynasty. Basically, you can see it by visiting there.
You can find a small shop, sit in the quaint rammed earth wall yard to blow, go to the Woods by the river in the morning to watch the fog linger, and watch the farmers in the rice fields return at dusk. Classical poetic life itself has the most powerful healing power.
Xianfeng shaxi Bai nationality bookstore
If you wander outside the ancient town, the first pioneer bookstore pioneer Shaxibai Bookstore is worth visiting. It is transformed from a warehouse, and the high roof makes the bookstore look cleaner and brighter.
There are many books about Yunnan local culture. If you want to know the past of this land, you can come here first.
Starting from the ancient town, Shi Zhongshan Grottoes can arrange a one-day tour to Shi Zhongshan Grottoes. It is the earliest grotto in Yunnan and is called "Dunhuang in the South" by academic circles.
The ancient tea-horse road exported products to Tubo and Southeast Asia, and the Buddhist culture of ancient India and Tibetan areas also penetrated into the border of Yunnan, Guizhou and Sichuan along the ancient road. Although its reputation is far less than that of Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, to some extent, it is also a place to communicate with China and foreign countries and integrate all aspects of civilization.
The themes of the sculptures here are mainly the secrets of Yunnan, the worship of lords and the classics of the Han Dynasty. In the eyes of culture and art lovers, you can also read it as a historical book of Nanzhao Dali Kingdom carved on a stone.
Shaxi market, if the time on the trip is coincidental, going to Fourth Street every Friday is also the most unforgettable experience.
Lijiang
Lijiang must be located in the northern line, which is the tourism benchmark in Yunnan people's hearts.
Like Dali, Lijiang has a lake and a mountain: Lugu Lake and Yulong Snow Mountain.
Yulong Snow Mountain is about 20 kilometers away from Old Town of Lijiang. It is the sacred mountain in the hearts of Naxi people and our scenic spot. In the face of such a natural landscape, human beings really seem too small.
Mosuo people living on the banks of Lugu Lake still retain the marriage system of unmarried men and unmarried women. They are also the last matriarchal social group in China, so they are called "daughter country".
The water in Lugu Lake is pure and bright as a mirror, just like a girl's heart. It is 76 kilometers around the lake, and you can enjoy its beauty in 360 degrees by renting a car, renting an electric car and riding.
The last thing I want to say is Shangri-La further north.
Shangri-La belongs to Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan. The name translates as "the sun and moon in your heart". You can really hold Gesanghua in your hand as the song sings. It's not far from Tibet, so both architecture and natural scenery have a little meaning of "Little Tibet".
The routes of these cities on the northern line are very smooth, especially suitable for self-driving. The advantage of driving by yourself is that you can harvest more scenery on the road. For example, Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest canyon in China between Shangri-La and Lijiang, can join the itinerary.
03- What interesting places are there in the west of Kunming?
Almost all the cities worth visiting in the west of Kunming border on Myanmar. After all, it's far away. Many people will choose to visit the places they want to go directly in this area. The most classic route is Tengchong-Ruili-mangshi.
Tengchong is a hot spring sanctuary with many good hotels. It takes 1 hour to fly to Kunming.
There are four famous hot springs here, one is Rehai. This area is a hot spring gathering place, with more than 80 places in size and the highest temperature of 96 degrees. People call it Dagunguo Scenic Resort Scenic Area.
The second place is Mayugu Hot Spring Town, where Banyan Tree is located. At present, the public area is not open, but guests can make private soup in the room.
The third place is a stone story designed by Kengo Kuma. He built a hotel hidden in the mountains with all kinds of stones. It is more than 50 kilometers away from the urban area, and they are all villa rooms with excellent privacy, which is really the first choice for holiday meditation.
To Tengchong, Heshun ancient town built on the mountain is a must. If you live in Heshun 'an Baili, it is very convenient. It faces the ancient town and combines the hotel landscape with the most famous local scenery.
A stone road connects the hotel with the ancient town, and Heshun is the most humane of all the ancient towns I have been to. Although there are commercial elements, the atmosphere inside still belongs to life. After ignoring those signs, you won't even feel like you are in a scenic spot.
Opposite the ancient town is a farmland. As the sun sets, watching the sparse people working in the fields and walking on the ridges, I suddenly understand the artistic conception of "picking chrysanthemums under the east fence and seeing Nanshan leisurely".
Students who like to travel by mouth will find the right place when they come to Tengchong. Stewed chicken, vermicelli, thin bean powder, casserole, Tengchong bait, Burmese Baba ... and beef with copper ladle must be eaten. It's really delicious.
Both mangshi and Ruili belong to Dehong Autonomous Prefecture, and they pass through mangshi by car from Tengchong. But because mangshi has an airport, you can go to Ruili first, then to mangshi, and you can fly home directly.
Ruili has a special stockade, half of which belongs to China and half to Myanmar, because it is just on the border. In order to show friendship, there is no special fence here, and green plants and ditches are directly used as boundaries, so that the living conditions of the people in that half village in Myanmar can be clearly seen.
Mangshi is characterized by various pagodas and temples with Southeast Asian customs. Although these southwestern towns have nothing to do with prosperity, isn't this comfortable environment suitable for travel? This is a pleasant day, walking, watching the scenery and looking for some delicious food.
