Southwest University of Political Science and Law&; Law), referred to as "Western Politics", is located in Chongqing and co-founded by the people of China, the Ministry of Education and the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. It is the earliest institution of higher learning of politics and law in New China, the first batch of national key universities after the reform and opening up, the first batch of national excellent legal talents education and training plan bases, and the recipient institution of China government's scholarship for international students in China.

As of August 20 18, the school has more than 2,000 teaching and administrative staff. Among them, there are more than 600 teachers with senior professional and technical positions, including the second batch of national leading talents in philosophy and social sciences, national cultural experts, "four groups" talents and national candidates for the special support plan for national high-level talents, namely, leading talents in philosophy and social sciences, leading talents in engineering, and top-notch young talents in the new century.
