The Art College of Three Gorges University has four first-class disciplines: art theory research, music and dance, and art design, and six undergraduate majors: music pedagogy, music performance, dance, art, environmental design, and visual communication design. There are seven departments (departments), including music department, dance department, fine arts department, environmental design department, visual communication design department, basic teaching department and theoretical teaching department. At present, there are 1 provincial key research base of humanities and social sciences-Bachu Art Development Research Center, 2 master's degree awarding points-art and culture, higher education curriculum and teaching theory (art and music education), and 4 school-level scientific research platforms-National Art Research Center of Three Gorges University, Calligraphy Culture Research Center of Three Gorges University, Design Art Research Institute of Three Gorges University and Nine Songs Choir of Three Gorges University.

The college has a first-class teaching and experimental environment, including model studio, digital design studio, computer-aided design studio, printmaking studio, sculpture and pottery studio, image studio, painting and calligraphy copying room, computer music production room and digital piano room. It also has a fully functional studio, design room, piano room, multimedia classroom, concert hall and exhibition hall, providing a good platform for teachers and students to display. The teaching and research room has a building area of more than 20,000 square meters and more than 20,000 professional books, periodicals and audio-visual materials. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment exceeds 10 million yuan.
