Yunnan University is a 2 1 1 ordinary institution of higher learning established by the Ministry of Provincial Affairs. Its overall strength ranks around 70 to 80. Literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, engineering, science, law and education are featured by ethnology, biology, development of characteristic resources and environmental protection, as well as research on frontier issues and international issues in Southeast Asia and South Asia.
