School introduction

Henan Polytechnic University ("HPU" for short), located in Jiaozuo City, Henan Province, is a key university in Henan Province, which is jointly established by the central and local governments and mainly managed by local governments. It is also a university jointly established by the People's Government of Henan Province and the former state administration of work safety.

Department specialty

As of June 2023, the school has 23 teaching colleges, including Cheng Zheng University, International Education College, Continuing Education College (Safety Technology Training Center) and Innovation and Entrepreneurship College, offering 80 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines, including engineering, science, management, economics, law, literature, education, art and medicine.

By June 2023, six disciplines, including school engineering, materials science, chemistry, mathematics, earth science, environment and ecology, have entered the top of ESI global ranking 1%, among which engineering disciplines have entered 2 ‰; Safety science and engineering, surveying and mapping science and technology were selected as "double first-class" construction projects in colleges and universities in Henan Province;

Mining engineering discipline is a "world-class discipline of soft science", and it is the only discipline in Henan universities that ranks in the top 30 in the world. There are 5 provincial key disciplines and 22 provincial key disciplines. Six postdoctoral research mobile stations, six first-class doctoral programs, 27 first-class master programs, and 2 1 master degree authorization categories have been established, and they have the right of exemption for master degrees.

There are 26 experts specially invited by the State Council Municipal Government, national teaching masters, national model teachers, national outstanding teachers, outstanding talents of the Ministry of Education in the new century, Central Plains scholars, provincial distinguished professor, provincial outstanding experts and provincial teaching masters, and more than 200 people, and 47 innovative teaching and research teams at or above the provincial and ministerial levels have been established.
