Northeast Petroleum University, referred to as Dongyou and Naipu for short, is located in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province, the largest petroleum and petrochemical base in China. It is a national key university born with the discovery of Daqing Oilfield, the largest oil field in China. My school is close to Northeast Petroleum University, and I often go to Orient Petroleum School, so I know this school well.
What impressed me most about Orient Oil is that the school is really big. Although Northeast Petroleum University is not a 985 and 2 1 1 institution, its popularity is not very high, but its background is profound. It is a petroleum institute jointly established by China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group, China Petrochemical Group, China Offshore Oil Corporation and Heilongjiang Provincial People's Government, and it is a key high-level university in Heilongjiang Province. With these "big bosses" platforms of state-owned enterprises, it can be seen that although this university is low-key, its strength cannot be underestimated.
Since Northeast Petroleum University is called "Petroleum University", the petroleum major is of course very strong, and it is very authoritative in the whole country, and it can even be said to be the forefront of the whole country. The reason why this university is not very famous is precisely because its main direction is oil, and many of the students recruited before are children of oil fields, and there are not many foreign students, so it seems a bit low-key. Look at the current leadership of PetroChina, Sinopec and CNOOC, and you will know how awesome this school is. Many presidents and vice presidents of these large state-owned enterprises graduated from Northeast Petroleum University. Therefore, this university is known as the "Whampoa Military Academy" in the oil industry.
