Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (hereinafter referred to as China Southern Airlines (NUAA)), located in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, is a comprehensive national key university directly under the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China, featuring aerospace and civil aviation and focusing on science and engineering. Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics ranks 46th in China.
It is a national "double-first-class" construction university, a national "21Project" and "985 Engineering Advantage Discipline Innovation Platform", and it has been selected into the national "1 1 Plan", the excellent engineer education and training plan, the scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students in China, and the national demonstration of deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform.
The school, formerly known as Nanjing Institute of Aeronautical Technology, was founded in June 1952, and is one of the earliest aviation colleges in People's Republic of China (PRC). 1978, identified as a national key university by the State Council; 198 1 was approved by the State Council to become the first batch of doctoral degree awarding units in China;
