The Department of Chemistry of Nanchang University, formerly the Department of Chemistry of Jiangxi University, was founded in 1958. At the beginning of its establishment, teachers mainly came from Nanjing University, Fudan University and Wuhan University. Academician Youxiao Zeng taught in our department for one year. 1995- 1998, the department of chemistry and the department of chemical engineering merged into the school of chemical engineering; 1999-2003, jointly established the School of Chemistry and Materials Science with the Department of Materials; In July 2003, it was established as the College of Science, which consists of the Department of Mathematics, the Department of Physics, the Department of Management Science and Engineering, the Basic Physics Experiment Center and the Basic Chemistry Experiment Center.
