Northwestern Polytechnical University is both a 985 university and a 2 1 1 university.

Northwestern Polytechnical University (hereinafter referred to as Xigong University), located in Xi City, Shaanxi Province, is a multi-disciplinary, research-oriented and open university featuring the development of personnel training and scientific research in the fields of aviation, aerospace and navigation. It is a national "first-class university" construction university (Class A) and belongs to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The school 1960 was identified as a national key university by the State Council, and both the Seventh Five-Year Plan and the Eighth Five-Year Plan were listed as one of the key universities in the State Council 15. 1995 the first batch entered "21/project" and 200 1 entered "985".

Discipline construction:

Seven disciplines, including materials science, engineering, chemistry, computer science, physics, earth science and mathematics, entered the top of ESI international discipline ranking 1%, among which materials science and engineering entered the top 1‰, forming a 3M (Materials, Electromechanical, Mechanics) discipline group led by China Aviation (Aerospace, Navigation).

Scientific research status

From 2006 to 20 13, the school undertook more than one scientific research project 10000, including major national science and technology projects, weapons and equipment model projects, national defense basic scientific research plans, pre-research plans, 863 plans, 973 plans, natural science funds and various industrial funds. Among the major national science and technology projects, the school participated in the preliminary demonstration and scientific research work of 10 major projects, such as large aircraft, nuclear high base, manned space flight, and wild spring moon exploration project.
