Jishou University is located in Jishou City, Hunan Province. It is a university founded by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and the Hunan Provincial People's Government. It is a first-class discipline construction university in Hunan Province. The school was established in April 1958. It spans Jishou City and Zhangjiajie City, with a total area of more than 2,900 mu and a construction area of nearly 600,000 square meters.
