What is the experience of biology postgraduate entrance examination in China University of Science and Technology?
Foreword1-Basic introduction

My undergraduate school (985) is still relatively good. My English has passed Band 6 (before the postgraduate entrance examination), and my basic knowledge is relatively solid. I also won awards and published papers during my undergraduate period. I feel that my brain is still good, so it is easier to prepare for the exam, and I was admitted to Grade 22. This is my admission notice and postgraduate entrance examination results, but I chose to go to Wuhan Virus College for joint training.

Foreword 2- School and Specialty

Reasons for choosing a school: At first, I decided not to be a Chinese University of Science and Technology, because another school had a late grade and its reputation was hard to change. Because there are two seniors in grade 2 1 here, it is convenient for me to understand the basic situation of the school, and after reading the real questions of the postgraduate entrance examination, I think the questions of the Chinese University of Science and Technology are very interesting, so I don't have to memorize all the time (I hate rote memorization), so I chose the Chinese University of Science and Technology.

Xueshuo minor

Selection of specialized courses: I chose 84 1 cell biology and 6 19 biochemistry and molecular biology. Many people will struggle between science and biochemistry. In 22 years, the school divided them into two directions. I am very decisive when I choose them. First, I have studied these courses and learned them well. Then I prefer the biochemistry of computational understanding in mathematics. If you are struggling, ask yourself: What are you good at? Do you like to endorse? Have you read the real question? I think the solution to the problem is to do research.

Preface 3- Overview of Books and Materials

1, Politics: Xiao Xiurong-Exquisite and Concise, 1000 Question, Hachi; ? Leg sister-Leg sister boxing class lecture, sprint to recite the manual, leg four. (recite manuals and handouts and pay attention to the news of the official account of Leg Sister WeChat)

Books available on Taobao

2. English: vocabulary-Zhu Wei's love story; Grammar-Grammar and Long Sentences by Liu Xiaoyan, isn't it? 》; True questions-the truth of postgraduate entrance examination, a set of true questions suitable for simulation. (I didn't buy Xiaoyan's book, so I attended the class directly)

Books available on Taobao

3. Specialized courses: Most versions of specialized courses will be listed below (the following is 265,438+0 years I saw when preparing for the exam, not new, this year's book has not yet been published. Although the knowledge points are similar, I still want to go to official website to check the novelty). Books are very expensive. I suggest buying second-hand books, but the colors must be authentic. Don't buy copies! ! !

2 1 year reference books

4. Information: I found some official WeChat accounts in the open class (you can go to Zhihu and search more, and many people will sort them out). There are many good things on them, and you can also go to the official WeChat accounts. If you like, they will help you sort them out. Many videos and printed materials I use are in these official WeChat accounts; Professional courses suggest finding a senior in Zhihu and joining a group. I found a senior in Zhihu, joined a group, and bought his information (I changed to a new group this year, so I won't leave the school's QQ here, so I can chat privately if necessary). Personally, I think it will be better than the online postgraduate institutions, and I found a postgraduate partner at once. Because the postgraduate entrance examination is an information war, it doesn't mean that you can study hard, so it's important to know some like-minded people.

Let's get down to business.

I specialized courses-biochemistry and molecules

Biochemistry is difficult, including memorizing trivial parts and understanding calculation parts, so if you don't have basic suggestions, start early and find a favorite teacher to follow. Personally, I think HKUST's biochemistry is relatively active. I basically didn't recite it, and I didn't write it completely during the exam. I summarized it according to my own understanding. Although the score is not high, but cost-effective. If you like reciting or have enough time and then work hard, you should do better in the exam. In terms of molecules, I don't think there are any particularly good books, some of which are also in English, and there is nothing to read at all. Therefore, if molecular books seem to be very laborious, it is better to buy senior notes or directly buy HKUST materials. The molecular proportion of HKUST has increased in the past two years, so we should pay attention to this one.

1, the first round (March-August): reading textbooks.

I used biochemistry and modern molecular biology as teaching materials, because there were still many classes at that time, so the review was very slow during this time, so I usually watched it for the first time while attending class, and then watched the video to learn from Teacher Yang again. Because I have undergraduate notes, I didn't write my own notes during this period. I think the book of molecular biology is not suitable for the exam, and because of time, I stopped reading it later and went directly to the second round.

I bought it from my senior (Taobao is more expensive, so it is recommended to use it second-hand).

Suggest an electronic version or a second-hand one (I don't think it's well written

2. The second round (August -65438+ 10): Look at the information of the four-piece set (the color changes every year).

In the second round, I had a little problem here, so the rhythm was disrupted for a while. My review is not divided by time, but by chapters. I will separate the knowledge points according to my own situation and review them once every two months. In fact, I think biochemistry should not be learned by rote, but should be understood, because many things can be written after you understand them, especially the metabolism part at the back, so I will put everything on my pen during this time, write it by myself and supplement it with the textbook.

Zhihu bought it after looking for a senior.

3. Three rounds (11-65438+February): do real questions and organize them systematically.

The real problem is done from the back to the front. You can choose to do a set of self-test second-round review results in recent years, and leave three or four sets of your own simulation tests (full-real-question simulation). When you do a real problem, you must sum it up by yourself. Don't treat it as a problem, but learn to learn systematically.

Second, specialized course-Cell.

Cell is the most painful subject I have ever studied, because I don't know much by memorizing it. Maybe you know what you know. Moreover, HKUST has strong cells, so the questions to be investigated can only be answered by rote, and there are few analogies in the experimental design. So preparing for the exam is the easiest course, but it will take a long time. Fortunately, the information on the market is well organized and it doesn't look difficult.

1, the first round (March-May): reading textbooks.

I used cell biology as a textbook. The quality of this book is actually quite high, and I think cell biology itself is more difficult, so I chewed the textbook directly and chewed it carefully from beginning to end, basically clarifying the overall framework.

Buy a colorful book (second-hand will be cheaper)

2, the second round (June -65438+ 10): read the counseling book I bought (this book is clear, corresponding to HKUST questions, I recited it three times).

This book is very cheap, so Taobao will do.

Third, politics.

Start politics early (because I like it, I want to learn something). Xiao Xiurong and I gave a concise lecture in Xu Tao class and brushed 1000 questions. After learning, I brushed 1000, which is the time to recall the last class. When Hachi came out, it was almost 1 1 mid-month, and then I did Hachi. I only did multiple-choice questions, but I didn't look at the big questions. Then I watched the video of Leg Sister's punching class with handouts (highly recommended, you don't have to worry about this after watching politics), and then I had a certain concept of the big topic, memorized it, and then I finished Leg Four. About ten days before the exam, Sister Leg recited big questions in front of her videos and handouts (mainly by compressing the previous sprint handouts, putting two questions on each big question, reducing the amount of recitation and some new political supplements), which is only consolidated and deepened here. HKUST's comprehensive ranking is not politics, so politics does not need high marks. Choose the way to study politics that suits you, after all, it is mainly professional courses.

I don't think politics needs to be planned by itself. Leg sister and grandpa Xiao will arrange time for you and go with them. Of course, if you have a good memory, you can recite their real questions yourself. Anyway, HKUST crossed the line (60+), not politics.

Summary:

1, basics (3- before Xiao Ba came out): I watched Xu Tao's video with Xiao Xiurong and went through the basics with Xu Tao. My politics is regarded by me as a kind of rest after I am tired of studying, so I study more easily and happily. But Xiao Xiurong's book is somewhat different from what Xu Tao said. I think we can also buy Xu Tao's books directly. After learning a chapter, I will do Xiao's "1000 problem". Don't write it in a book for the first time, wait until you have learned it. After two times, you will know where you really can't do it, and then focus.

2. Consolidate and promote (do it as soon as Junior Eight comes out): do it as a junior eight, and do it every day after it comes out. Just do multiple-choice questions, just answer briefly, don't write down the choices in the book for the first time. Make full use of these eight sets of questions and strive to consolidate the multiple-choice questions after completion.

3, sprint (pay attention to the leg sister, the time is different every year, follow the leg sister): just follow the leg sister. Many people may recite Xiao Si directly, but I didn't. One is that I don't like rote learning, and I want to find an answer template. Moreover, learning from the teacher is more memorable than learning from myself, so I only learned from my sister.

Fourth, English.

My English is not particularly good, so I spend more time drawing in English and laying the foundation. I followed the part of the real question (the real question is divided into three parts). When I finished learning vocabulary and grammar, I did the first part of the real question. It was really terrible, but I didn't care too much. I just finished my class with Tang Chi. During this period, I also learned a little history with Tang Chi, so that I can have a systematic understanding. Then I went to the second part. During the period, there was no system to do real questions, but I still read a little and translated a little. Don't write the second part in the real question. Of course, I can also buy a set of papers with only real questions, as long as 20 yuan. After writing, I will follow the video and sort out the wrong questions. During this time, I began to try to be a translator. Read an article every two or three days and turn it over and over again. I don't know how many times. Actually, it's not how many times I turned it over. The purpose is to keep my feelings and summarize the test sites of long and difficult sentences. After reading it, I began to focus on the new questions and cloze in the second part, and I also went through it with the teacher myself. You will find that these two parts are actually very simple, but it is not easy to get full marks. One of the single, logical words must be sorted out by myself. Then I went to the third part. At this time, I will do the problem systematically. In addition to the composition, I have to do a whole set, and then correct the mistakes with the video. At this time, I will start to write a composition, and I will write a composition with my mother Shi. Leave several sets of questions for simulation, do the others repeatedly, and write the composition repeatedly.

English review is basically the same as politics. Self-study is not recommended. This is a waste of time. Since many professionals have made plans for you, you can do it according to your own needs. As far as taking the exam is concerned, the indirect experience gained from them is indeed faster than your direct experience, so we still need to put more time and energy into professional courses.

1, vocabulary (March-June): Zhu Wei's love books are accompanied by videos (you will get videos when you buy books). Zhu Wei is verbose, but you can still learn a lot from him. My classmate used Tang Chi's lexical logic, which seems to have a good effect. It's up to you to choose. I still use the word scallop back. They spend money on ink, and the effect is definitely better than scallops. Then they download the vocabulary booklet written by Zhu Chi every day (the official account of WeChat has it) and recite it together.

2. Grammar (July-August): Following Mr. Liu Xiaoyan, Mr. Liu Xiaoyan speaks grammar very carefully, but don't just listen without practicing. Be sure to cooperate with his practice and do it yourself. Many people really just attend classes and don't learn to consolidate after class, which will get twice the result with half the effort.

3. Reading (July-165438+1October): Master and Tang Chi will stay for a few years for simulation training, while others will listen and summarize repeatedly according to their own arrangements. If you can classify the topics by yourself, then you are very good. Teachers will also emphasize the necessity of summing up in class. I think it is very important for us to answer questions at least once a week. Don't worry about doing the problem. You can understand a set of questions thoroughly, even more thoroughly than you can recite the answers to ten sets of questions.

4. Sanxiaomen (September -65438+ 10): I followed Nan Nan, and I just read all the questions with her. I didn't ask for full marks, but I followed suit and really improved a lot. These questions are the application of logic and the accumulation of words. The teacher explained the skills very clearly. What I say here is not as professional as theirs, and I don't want to play broadsword in front of the public. You can listen to it.

5. Translation (September -65438+ 10): I listened to several teachers' lectures and didn't like them very much. Finally, I just gave up. With the foundation laid by Liu Xiaoyan, I have no problem contacting myself. Since I started my translation review, I haven't stopped every day, just like words. I have 1-2 translation practice every day, which gradually accumulates. But some words may just be unknown, but it doesn't matter. Just translate them boldly.

6. Composition (11-65438+February): I studied with my mother Shi, and I always found it difficult for me to recite the composition, so I followed Teacher Shi Leipeng to write the composition and formed my own routine. Mother Shi's template was formed by herself in the process of practicing with him. The sentences are not difficult and regular. I tried to recite those that were particularly well written, but the effect was not good. You didn't write it right at all. You might as well write the sentence correctly and get high marks.

A little encouragement:

Postgraduate entrance examination is not to study hard silently, but to temper one's will (after all, it is difficult for graduate students), to know a group of bosses (it is very important, you will be very smooth with bosses around), to learn to collect and sort out information, to learn to study as a whole, and to really know yourself. I don't think we should study hard all day. I think we should pay attention to communication, especially in the communication and answering questions of the research group. You can also try to answer other people's questions, and maybe you will have a new understanding of this problem. There is no question of right or wrong. Don't trust other people's answers too easily. You must have your own understanding. This way of thinking is very important to us. If you feel that you are working hard but still making slow progress, it may be that your method is wrong. At this time, it is better to stop to review, relax and tidy up. Sometimes finding the right way and direction is more useful than studying for a week. Again, we should pay attention to cost performance, not to learn by ourselves, not to compare the length of study with others, but to compare how much we have gained. The most important thing is exercise. Postgraduate entrance examination takes a long time and consumes a lot of body and mind. Only by staying healthy can we persist. I just didn't pay attention to this when I took the postgraduate entrance examination, and I was tired after I finished studying, which led to my poor physical condition now. Even if I passed the exam, I delayed a lot of things.

Come on, take your time and learn to sum up. I will wait for you here.
