Early professional basketball career

1984, Jordan shined in his first year in the NBA. After scoring 16 in the first game, he averaged 28.2 points, grabbed 6.5 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 2/4 steals. In the same year, he was not only selected for the all-star team, but also won the rookie of the year.

1985- 1986 In the third game of the season, Jordan suffered a foot injury and lost 18 games. Despite this, the Bulls made it to the playoffs, but were finally defeated by their arch-enemy Boston Celtics. In the second game, Jordan scored a historic 63 points, becoming the personal best in NBA history so far. After the game, Larry Bird commented that Jordan was "disguised by God".

The following season made Jordan the best player in the league. Eight times in the regular season, he scored more than 50 points, averaging 37. 1 minute, becoming the second player to score more than 3,000 points in a season after Chamberlain. He beat Magic Johnson in the vote of NBA Most Valuable Player. But in the finals, the bulls were defeated by Celtic again.

In the fourth season, he averaged 35 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.9 assists. He won the MVP and Defensive Player of the Year for the first time, and the All-Star Game MVP and Dunk Contest MVP for the second time. Bulls beat Cleveland Cavaliers, but lost to Detroit Pistons.

1988-89 season, Jordan averaged 32.5 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists per game, which often played a huge role at critical moments. With the help of Jordan and rookie Scott Pippen and Grant, the Bulls defeated the Knicks in the Eastern Conference semifinals, but finally lost to the Detroit Pistons.

1989-90 season, head coach Phil Jackson coached the bulls. Jordan averaged 33.6 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game, ranking third in the most valuable player selection. The Bulls were defeated by the Pistons again in the Eastern Division.

Golden period

Jordan and Pippen led the Bulls to six consecutive victories. 1990-9 1 season, Jordan averaged 3 1.5 points on the regular court, got 6 rebounds and 5.5 assists, and won the title of the most valuable player of the season for the second time. Under his leadership, 16 won the championship for the first time after the Bulls defeated the new york Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers, Detroit Pistons and Los Angeles Lakers, and Jordan deserved to be the most valuable player in the NBA Finals.

199 1- 1992 season, the bulls continued their glory. Jordan averaged 30. 1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6. 1 assists, and once again became the most valuable player of the season. Bulls beat Portland Trailblazers to win the championship again, and Jordan won the title of the most valuable player in the finals for the second time.

1992-93 season, Jordan averaged 32.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game, but lost the award of the most valuable player of the season (won by Charles Buckley). But after the Bulls beat the Phoenix Suns and won the NBA championship for the third time, he won the MVP in the finals for the third time, and he also won the dunk contest for the second time.

First retirement

1993 10, Jordan announced his retirement for the first time, which caused the whole basketball world to shake. 1994, he signed for the Chicago White Sox and started his baseball career.

1993-94 season, the bulls without Jordan unexpectedly scored 55 wins and 27 losses, but were defeated by the Knicks in the finals. 1994-95 season was even worse. All this requires Jordan to come back and turn things around.

Go back to court

Jordan's poor baseball performance contributed to his return. 1On September 9th, 994, in a charity basketball match organized by Pippen, Jordan scored 52 points, which proved that his popularity remained the same. 1995 March 18, he officially announced his return to the bulls. The difference is that he is wearing a number 45 jersey instead of a number 23. He scored 19 in the game against Indiana Pacers the next day.

Although he has not participated in the competition for a year and a half, Jordan still plays well. 1On March 29th, 995, he scored 55 points in a game against the Knicks. In April, he led the Bulls to 9 wins/KLOC-0 losses and successfully entered the playoffs. Average 3 1.5 points per game against Orlando Magic. However, the bull failed to beat the magic in the end.

The second golden age

1995-96 season, Jordan changed back to the previous No.23 jersey and once again ushered in his glory. Thanks to the introduction of excellent rebounder dennis rodman, the strength of Bulls has been enhanced unprecedentedly: 72 wins, 10 losses, the best season result in NBA history. Jordan won the most valuable player in the regular season and all-star game. The Bulls lost only three of the four rounds of round robin in the playoffs, and finally defeated seattle supersonics to win the championship. Jordan won the most valuable player in the finals for the fourth time, surpassing Magic Johnson.

1996-97 season, Jordan led the bulls 69 wins 13 losses. But this year, he was replaced by karl malone as the most valuable player. In the finals, they faced the rival Utah Jazz led by Malone. In the game, Jordan's basketball talent and the soul function of the court were once again displayed. In the first game, he beat the jazz with a buzzer. In the fifth final (the first four games were tied 2-2), despite the symptoms of fever and dehydration, Jordan scored 38 points, which finally helped the Bulls beat their opponents with a slight advantage of 90-88 and won the NBA championship for the fifth time. He once again deserved the title of the most valuable player in the finals.

1997-98 season, the bulls were 62 wins and 20 losses. Jordan averaged 28.7 points per game, won the most valuable player in the regular season for the fifth time, was selected to the All-Star team, the first defensive team, and won the most valuable player in the All-Star game. Bulls entered the playoffs for the third time in a row and met Utah Jazz again in the finals.

After 3-2 in the first five games, the Bulls played the sixth game with the Jazz. In the game, Jordan threw the greatest, most classic and most controversial ball in NBA history: at the last moment of the game, when the Bulls fell behind 83-86, head coach Jackson called a timeout. After receiving the pass, Jordan hit a shot and chased the score to 85-86. Jazz serves and passes it to Karl Malone, the bottom line of the frontcourt. Malone gained the upper hand after confronting Rodman who defended him, but Jordan suddenly intercepted the ball. Then Jordan dribbled to the frontcourt and faced Brian Russell, the jazz player who defended him. At the end of the game 10 second, he faked and made an incredible gesture, which miraculously reversed the score. In the end, the Bulls beat the Jazz by one point and won the championship for the sixth time. Jordan averaged more than 30 points in the finals, 45 points in the sixth game, and won the MVP in the finals for the sixth time. Jordan's MVP score in the six finals is exactly twice that of Magic Johnson, Shaquille O 'Neal and Tim Duncan (all three times).

Jordan's heroic behavior in Game 6 seems to be the perfect ending of his career. With the expiration of Phil Jackson's contract with the Bulls and Pippen's departure, Jordan announced his retirement again on June1999+1October 13.

Third comeback

On June 65438+1October 65438+September 2000, Jordan returned to the NBA again, but this time he appeared as the business manager of the Washington Wizards, not as a player.

On 2001September 10, Jordan decided to return to the NBA again, but the events that shocked the whole country the next day delayed his idea. On September 25th, two weeks after the 9 1 1 terrorist attack, he announced that he would donate his salary of $6,543,800+to the victims of the terrorist attack.

In the 200 1-02 season, he was injured, averaging 22.9 points, 5.2 main attacks and 1.42 steals, which almost led the young wizards to the playoffs. In 2002-03, he averaged 20 points per game. In the 13 and final all-star game of his career, he surpassed Karim Abdel-Jabbar to become the highest scoring player in the all-star game. This year, Jordan is the only player in the Wizards who has played 82 games, of which 67 are starters. Averaging 20.0 points and 6. 1 rebounds and 3.8 assists 1.5 steals.

On April 6, 2003, the game against Philadelphia 76ers became the last game of Jordan's NBA career, and he contributed 15 points. In the last few minutes before the end of the game, at the strong demand of the audience, Jordan, who had rested for a while, returned to the court and completed his last two free throws. Then the audience stood up and applauded for three minutes.

On May 7, 2003, Jordan withdrew from the management of the Wizards.

commercial activity

As one of the most dazzling superstars in sports history, Jordan has always been the object of competition among major businesses. The brands he has endorsed include: Nike, Gatorade, Hans, McDonald's, Franks Hot Dog in Baseball Field, Rayovac Battery and MCI Telecom.

The "Air Jordan" basketball shoes named after him once became a product that basketball fans rushed to buy.

From 65438 to 0996, Jordan and Bonnie and many other Hollywood cartoon stars starred in the movie "Space Jam", and the whole movie cost nearly $65438+$200 million. Unfortunately, this film was rated as the worst sports film in history by Sports Illustrated magazine in the United States, and it was described as "the commercial taste made the free spirit of Warner cartoon stars disappear in the past, and Michael Jordan's royal style was completely obliterated".
