Xihua university, referred to as Xihua for short, is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is a key university supported by the basic capacity building project of universities in the central and western regions of the country. It has been selected into the first batch of "new engineering" research and practice projects of the Ministry of Education, the excellent universities evaluated by the Ministry of Education, and the first batch of demonstration universities in Sichuan Province to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education.

Sichuan Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan, Sichuan Excellent Agriculture and Forestry Talents Education and Training Plan, Sichuan 20 1 1 Plan and Sichuan's "Double First-class" Construction Plan are members of the University Alliance of Chengdu-Chongqing Twin Cities Economic Circle. It is a comprehensive university in Sichuan Province with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, law, economy, art, literature, education, agriculture and medicine.

Xihua university was founded in 1960 as Sichuan Agricultural Machinery College, 1972 was renamed as Chengdu Agricultural Machinery College, and 1983 was renamed as Sichuan Institute of Technology. In 2003, Sichuan University of Technology and chengdu normal university merged to form xihua university. In 2008, Sichuan Economic Management Cadre College merged. ?

By June 2020, the school has four campuses, namely headquarter, Pengzhou, Rennan and Yibin, with a campus area of more than 4,000 mu, a library area of more than 50,000 square meters, more than 2.6 million paper documents and more than 8 million electronic books and periodicals.

At present, there are more than 960 senior professional technicians, 27 colleges, 32 master's degree authorization points and 9 1 undergraduate majors, including 18 first-class disciplines, 14 two disciplines master's degree authorization points and 13 professional master's degree authorization categories.
