The MBA re-examination is more practical, but there are also some theoretical assessments. Generally speaking, it is divided into three parts:
Political theory examination
English listening and speaking test
Comprehensive quality interview
Generally speaking, political examination is assessed in written examination or interview. Of course, students don't have to worry about memorizing politics too late, because the exam won't require you to recite for a long time, but will be assessed through case analysis. As for English, I can speak and listen, and I don't have many skills in this field. I still need to prepare in advance and practice often. Re-examination focuses on comprehensive quality interview, which also reflects MBA institutions' emphasis on candidates' practical ability. Interviews are divided into face-to-face and group interviews. Let's talk about it in detail:
Personal interview:
Personal interview mainly consists of three parts: self-introduction, topic selection and random questions from the interviewer. The content of the interviewer's questions includes the applicant's previous education, work background and performance, industry awareness of the enterprise, attention to social and economic hotspots, career development, etc. And examine whether the candidates have clear career goals and ways to achieve them, as well as their leadership and management skills, professionalism, business judgment, analytical and expressive skills, etc., so as to determine whether the growth trend and growth space of the candidates meet the training objectives of MBA. Personal interview is usually 10~30 minutes, in which self-introduction and topic selection are not available in every school.
Group interview (group discussion or debate):
Group interviews are generally composed of several candidates to discuss management or socio-economic cases designated by the interviewer. During the interview, the interviewer does not participate, but observes the candidate's speech and performance, so as to judge the candidate's comprehensive ability. There are three common forms of group interview: leaderless group discussion, group confrontation and roadshow.
Leaderless group discussion is the most common form of group interview, which is generally composed of 6-8 candidates. Take 20-40 minutes to analyze the case and specify the question, then speak in turn and discuss freely, and draw a conclusion and summarize the question. In the process of problem analysis, free discussion and summary, a clear time will be limited according to the case, and overtime is not allowed.
Roadshow mode is generally based on group discussion, and candidates give speeches to interviewers and other candidates on the case. According to the case, the interview site usually provides corresponding props such as whiteboards and markers.
Group confrontation mode generally consists of 10 candidates. The interview site was randomly divided into two groups, and the questions and advantages and disadvantages were decided by lottery on the spot. The team members decide one to five debaters themselves, and have five minutes to prepare and consult the information, and then debate and confront.
For the group interview, the interview is difficult, which not only reflects the individual ability, but also reflects the team spirit. Being able to use people, being tolerant of people, or being good at being used by people are all necessary qualities for managers.
2. What does the examiner want to know?
Although the interview methods are different, what the interviewer wants to know is limited. Through the above assessment methods, the interviewer can basically master these abilities of students:
Students' professional ability: For on-the-job students, you may not pay too much attention to their professional background, but you will often ask some basic management knowledge, and your professional level can explain your learning ability.
Students' English proficiency: English proficiency test is a compulsory item, which mainly depends on candidates' listening and speaking ability.
Ability to deal with problems: If your resume involves some projects, it is best to clearly state your role in them.
Students' comprehensive quality and ability: comprehensive quality is reflected in all aspects, even clothing needs attention.
Students' practical ability: MBA pays attention to practice, and it is very important to brush your professional experience before the interview.
Students' ability to withstand pressure: Teachers are under great pressure to take care of students, so teachers who are interested in you will know whether you can finish your studies smoothly and actively and whether you have a healthy mental state. Of course, you should be unreserved in this respect.
The examiner's ability to pay attention is linked to the professional nature. Most universities still pay more attention to students' comprehensive literacy ability (communication, problem solving, etc.). ). Candidates pay more attention to the assessment methods of colleges and universities, and also pay more attention to the improvement of their comprehensive quality.
