Xinyang Normal University, located in Xinyang City, Henan Province, is the first undergraduate college founded in Henan Province after China's reform and opening up. Founded in 1975, it was originally named Xinyang Branch of Kaifeng Normal University (now Henan University). In 1978, it was approved by the State Council as a scientific system and renamed as its current name.
