Why does everyone say that universities are ivory towers, pure and beautiful?
Everything is relative. Some people say that the university is a micro-society, so I think the statement that the university is an ivory tower is relative to the real society.

Compared with the real society, it is really normal for universities to be called ivory towers. After all, there is no social darkness and distrust in universities, but more purity and beauty.

Take the school as an example. In my university, lost things can always be found back. Every day, a group of people lose their meal cards, money and mobile phones. No matter who loses something, no matter how valuable it is, people who know it will help forward it in the mobile phone space or friends circle and retrieve the lost thing through various channels. Everyone is very kind.

In society, it is different. Take me for example, as soon as I got on the bus, someone stole my mobile phone, which is the kind of professional thief recidivist. Personally, I feel particularly unhappy. If I accidentally lost it myself and someone found it and didn't return it, I wouldn't say anything. It's really disgusting to steal my mobile phone just for you.

I think it can be seen from this little incident that although the university is a micro-society, it is still very different from the real society. People in universities are generally warm and kind, and others will try their best to help them when they have difficulties, such as petty theft.

This is why the university is an ivory tower, because compared with the real society, the university is more pure and beautiful, without fierce job competition in society, unpredictable fears of the people, and no bad things that violate the law and discipline. So we should cherish the beautiful life in the ivory tower, so we wouldn't have such a simple life in society.
