The new campus of Xi Youshi University is located in Fengjing Industrial Park, Huyi District, Xi City, with convenient transportation. It is adjacent to Qinling Mountain, a world geological park, the exit of Huyi District of Xihan Expressway in the north, the ancient city of Xi in the east and the urban area of Huyi District in the west, which is about 40 minutes' drive from the headquarters.
The new campus covers an area of 1.726 mu, with a planned total construction area of about 660,000 square meters and a total construction investment of about 960 million yuan. It is positioned as a fully functional comprehensive university park that can accommodate more than 20,000 students, and mainly undertakes the education and related scientific research work of undergraduate and graduate students.
The first phase of Xi Youshi University Hu Yi Campus started in early 2007. After two and a half years of hard construction, it was put into use on June 30, 2009. The first phase of the project can accommodate 6000 students and nearly 1000 faculty and staff. In September 2009, more than 4,000 freshmen have settled in the new campus with beautiful scenery and environment.

Xi Youshi University is the only multi-disciplinary general institution of higher learning in northwest China featuring petroleum and petrochemical industry. It is an institution jointly established by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government and the three major national oil companies, a high-level university construction institution in Shaanxi Province, and a self-enrollment institution for foreign students studying in China with China municipal government scholarships.
The school was founded in 195 1 Northwest Institute of Petroleum Technology. 1958, upgraded to Xi 'an Petroleum Institute. 1969, the college closed down when it changed factories. 1980, Xi 'an Petroleum Institute resumed and rebuilt. In 2000, it was transferred from China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Company to the central and local governments, and was mainly managed by Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. In 2003, the school was renamed Xi Youshi University.
Yanta Campus is located in Xi 'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone Electronic Industrial Park, Mingde Campus is located in Xi 'an Anzhang Badong Road, and Hu Yi Campus is located in Xi Fengjing Industrial Park in Xi Huyi District. The school covers an area of 2 133 mu with total fixed assets of 2.755 billion yuan and total equipment of 548 million yuan.
The school enrolls students from 3/kloc-0 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and has 14 colleges and 2 directly affiliated departments. There are more than 6,000 undergraduates/kloc-0, 2 full-time doctoral students100, part-time graduate students 1400, more than 900 overseas students, and more than 2,300 continuing education students. Since its establishment, it has trained 654.38 million graduates.
