The School of Computer Science and Communication Engineering of Jiangnan University is one of the independent professional colleges in the field of computer science in China. It has the right to award doctoral degrees in computer application, six master's degrees in computer science (including computer software and theory, computer system structure and computer application technology), communication and information system, pattern recognition and intelligent system, electromagnetic field and microwave technology, and four master's degrees in computer technology, electronics and communication engineering, software engineering and agricultural informatization.
The college has seven undergraduate majors: computer science and technology, software engineering, network engineering, communication engineering, information security and software engineering (training direction of embedded software talents) and Internet of Things. Among them, computer science and technology and communication engineering are characteristic majors in Jiangsu Province.
There are 366 graduate students (excluding master of engineering) and 458 undergraduates/kloc-0. There are currently 0/47 faculty members, including 6 doctoral supervisors, 2 professors, 32 associate professors, 4 senior engineers, 4 provincial and ministerial leaders of cross-century disciplines, and 8 famous experts at home and abroad are employed as part-time professors. The college consists of 7 departments, 2 experimental centers, computer application research institute, ultra-wideband technology research institute, software development and application research institute and other teaching and research institutions. The professional experimental center of the college is the experimental demonstration center of Jiangsu Province, which has advanced experimental equipment and many high-end workstations. The college has a national-level CAD application training base determined by the Ministry of Science and Technology, an enterprise information software research center and an enterprise information software experiment center established by Kingdee Company, and a mobile communication innovation base established by China Mobile Zhenjiang Branch.
The college adheres to the concept of teaching as the center, discipline construction as the leader, laboratory construction as the foundation and teaching quality as the fundamental. In the teaching reform, many main courses have been rated as provincial and school-level excellent courses. By making full use of the modern means of multimedia-assisted teaching, most courses have been made into network courseware or multimedia teaching plans, and the teaching effect is good. Pay attention to the cultivation of students' innovative ability and practical ability, and students' quality is comprehensive. He has won many awards in international mathematical modeling contest, ACM programming contest, national information security contest, national football robot contest, national college student challenge cup, provincial business plan contest and other provincial-level scientific and technological innovation competitions. The College has strengthened its contact with the society and established long-term friendly cooperative relations with well-known domestic enterprises such as Shenzhen Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Changjiang Group, Little Swan Group, Nanjing Zijin Group, China Telecom and China Mobile.
