Secondly, college students also have various vague understandings of national security. First, college students still have some traditional and one-sided understanding of national security, such as military affairs, war, national defense, territory, intelligence and espionage. At present, national security includes not only traditional contents such as territorial security, sovereign security, political security, economic security, national defense security and national security, but also new contents such as cultural security, scientific and technological security, financial security and information security. Therefore, a comprehensive understanding of national security is helpful to correct college students' ideological understanding and enhance their awareness of national security. Second, when it comes to national security, college students will naturally think of the CIA, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the national security organs, the army and the police in the United States. This one-sided understanding of equating national security with intelligence espionage makes it impossible for college students to consciously link maintaining national security with their own responsibilities, and more or less consciously or unconsciously think that "national security has nothing to do with themselves." Third, with China's economic development, social stability, people living and working in peace and contentment, its international status is improving day by day. The peaceful environment makes college students consciously and unconsciously relax their vigilance against the sabotage activities of hostile forces at home and abroad, dilute their security awareness, and think that "there is no secret in opening up" and "there are no spies in peacetime" and so on. Due to ideological paralysis, some state secrets were leaked. What's more, some individuals can't stand the temptation of money and beauty, and they lose their national personality and sell information, which has caused great losses to national security and interests. The lesson is extremely painful and profound!

In a word, China is facing a complicated and severe security situation, and college students' awareness of national security is relatively weak. It is both necessary and urgent to provide college students with safety education, train their knowledge of national security and establish a new concept of national security.

(B) Strengthening the safety education of college students is the need of the public security situation in colleges and universities.

With the deepening of reform and opening up, colleges and universities have changed from closed schools to open schools, and general teaching and scientific research institutions have become diversified social institutions such as teaching, scientific research, production and commerce. At present, the management mode of colleges and universities is socialized, the forms of running schools are diversified, the student structure is complicated, and the campus and society cross each other, and the campus security situation is becoming increasingly complex and severe. Its main manifestations are as follows: First, the campus environment is becoming increasingly socialized and complicated. With the development of higher education and the deepening of reform and opening up, colleges and universities have changed from a single closed teaching type to an all-round, multi-functional and open "small society". There are not only teaching areas and living areas on campus, but also mixed family areas and residential areas. There are not only teaching and research facilities, but also factories, companies, supermarkets, bookstores, banks, post offices, hospitals, hotels, bathrooms, restaurants, theaters, dance halls and other life service facilities and institutions. A college is like a small county. This complicated pattern has objectively caused many unfavorable factors to the safety of colleges and universities. Some lawless elements in society often rush into colleges and universities to carry out rogue criminal activities such as theft, robbery, fraud and murder, and some even endanger the personal safety of teachers and students, which directly affects the safety and stability of schools. Second, a large number of migrant workers and businessmen have flooded into the campus, which has brought great impact on the public security management of the school. With the formation of socialization of logistics in colleges and universities, a large number of outsiders come to work and do business in schools. Because these people have low cultural quality, weak legal concept, high mobility and difficult management. Therefore, some foreigners violate the law and commit crimes more prominently. According to the survey, the cases caused by outsiders in colleges and universities account for more than 40% of criminal and public security cases in colleges and universities. A slight negligence can easily lead to traffic accidents. Fourth, the security environment around the campus is becoming more and more complicated. At present, the security situation around colleges and universities is still grim, and there are still a lot of negative factors that cause security problems on campus and around them. Public security and criminal cases that infringe on the personal and property safety of school teachers and students occur from time to time. According to relevant statistics, most of the criminal and public security cases or public security problems in colleges and universities are related to students. The occurrence of these cases will not only hurt students and their families, but also directly affect the normal teaching and living order of the school and even endanger the stability of the whole society. Therefore, under the circumstances of severe social security situation, complex security environment around colleges and universities and unsatisfactory campus security situation, strengthening college students' safety education and improving their safety prevention ability can effectively reduce and avoid all kinds of safety problems among college students, thus playing a positive role in maintaining the security and stability of colleges and universities.

(3) Strengthening college students' safety education is the need to improve students' self-prevention and self-protection ability.

In recent years, there have been many accidental injuries to students inside and outside the campus. Although the reasons are different, they have one thing in common, that is, most of the students involved have no psychological preparation and self-protection awareness, and they are at a loss when facing injuries. At present, college students' self-prevention consciousness and self-protection ability mainly have the following problems: First, they lack social experience. Contemporary college students grew up under the care of their parents and teachers without any setbacks. Their thoughts are relatively simple, and they can't make a rational understanding of the bad atmosphere and some bad people in society. Due to the lack of social experience, self-prevention ability is relatively weak, such as the lack of experience in keeping your valuables and cash, it is easy to have property stolen; Lack of interpersonal experience, easy to be deceived. There are also some students who don't know how to protect themselves when they are illegally infringed, and are easily deceived or coerced by some lawless elements. In recent years, many cases of kidnapping, abuse and mutilation of female college students are living examples in this regard. Second, there is a lack of awareness of safety precautions. Some college students have a weak awareness of safety precautions and lack necessary attention and vigilance to various possible safety problems, leaving behind various hidden dangers that affect safety. If people don't lock the door, valuables are improperly kept and discarded at will, resulting in money being stolen; Some students violate the dormitory safety management regulations, such as pulling wires, using electrical appliances illegally, smoking in the dormitory, throwing cigarette butts, etc., which have caused various safety accidents. Third, it lacks the ability to resist negative social factors. At present, China is in an unprecedented period of reform and opening up. The decadent ideas and declining lifestyles of the western bourgeoisie, as well as the extreme individualism, egoism and hedonism centered on money, have great temptation to young college students who are not deeply involved in the world, have little experience and lack of social experience, and do not distinguish between good and bad. For example, influenced by money worship, hedonism and extreme individualism, some college students can't stand the temptation of social money, love leisure and hate labor, and are greedy for pleasure.
