Chang 'an University, located in the ancient capital Xi, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC). It is jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government. It is one of the first batch of key universities in China, such as "2 1 1 Project", "985 Innovation Platform for Engineering Superiority Discipline", "1/Plan", "National Postgraduate Program for Building High-level Universities" and "Education and Training Plan for Outstanding Engineers". It is one of the earliest universities to recruit international students and the first batch of students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and has the only comprehensive automobile testing ground in universities across the country.

As of March 20 15, the school has two teaching areas and two practice bases, with a campus area of 3745 mu. There are 2/kloc-0 teaching colleges (departments), 5 national key disciplines, 26 provincial key disciplines, 8 postdoctoral research stations, 8 first-class doctoral programs, 50 doctoral programs in two disciplines, 26 first-class master programs, 165438 master programs in two disciplines and 78 undergraduate programs. Public administration, business administration and other seven categories of master's degree authorization, master of engineering 16 enrollment field. It is a national college students' cultural quality education base and a reserve police officer selection and training base of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force. There are more than 34,000 full-time students, including doctoral students, master students and foreign students 10000.
