Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the second highest official (head of state) in the Emirates House, is the chief of Abu Dhabi.

Born in 1948, 1969 was appointed Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi. He used to be the representative of eastern Abu Dhabi, the president of the Eastern District Court, the Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense of Abu Dhabi, and the Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government. 1976 as deputy commander-in-chief of the UAE armed forces.

In 2004, Khalifa inherited the position of Sheikh of Abu Dhabi and immediately became a member of the Supreme Council of the United Arab Emirates, which consists of seven Emirates.

According to the UAE Constitution, the President and Vice President must be elected from the members of the Federal Supreme Council. When the chairman or vice-chairman becomes vacant, the Committee shall meet within 30 days and elect a new successor.
