Guangdong, referred to as "Guangdong" for short, is a provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), with Guangzhou as the capital. Because the East generally believes in ancient place names, it was named "Guangdong". Located in the south of Nanling and on the coast of the South China Sea, it borders Hong Kong, Macao, Guangxi, Hunan, Jiangxi and Fujian, and faces Hainan across the sea. It has jurisdiction over 2 1 prefecture-level city, 65 municipal districts, 20 county-level cities, 34 counties and 3 autonomous counties.
Among the cities under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, Guangzhou is a national central city, Shenzhen is a sub-provincial city and a city with separate plans, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Shantou are special economic zones, and Guangzhou and Zhanjiang are the first batch of coastal open cities in China. It is divided into 122 county-level administrative regions, including 65 municipal districts, 20 county-level cities, 34 counties and 3 autonomous counties. Guangdong province has determined Shunde district as a pilot project of directly administering counties. Shunde District enjoys the administrative law enforcement authority of prefecture-level cities, which will be directly assessed by Guangdong Province and scored separately.
