University of Waikato International Language School Waikato University was founded in 1964, located in the center of Hamilton, covering an area of more than 60 hectares. It is a national university funded by the New Zealand government. The language course of Waikato University is a well-known local English training base. In order to ensure that every student can really improve their language level, the school insists on setting up small classes, with a maximum of 18 students in one class. There are two kinds of language courses offered by Huai University, namely "General English" and "Academic English".
1. General English course. General English is a short-term course, which provides a pure environment for international students from all over the world, that is, learning everyday English in an English-speaking atmosphere, and learning is also integrated into local customs. General English is divided into full-time (23 hours per week) and part-time (0/5 hours per week). Students can start their studies on the second Monday (except New Zealand public holidays) for at least three weeks to six months. Students will receive the admission notice from Waikato Preparatory College. Teachers customize personal placement and promotion reports for students. Courses range from elementary to advanced. The number of students determines the comprehensive courses and choices. Students need to complete the preliminary grading examination to evaluate their entrance level, and then they can choose further tests to enter a higher level.
2. Academic English courses. Academic English is a directional training course for students who are about to enter the university. In addition to IELTS, there are intimate courses aimed at university majors and learning styles, and efforts are made to help students adapt to the teaching progress and study habits of New Zealand universities. Academic English courses will focus on the skills necessary for successful university study, such as academic writing, listening, note-taking, reading and oral expression skills.
