Brief introduction of Sichuan University:
Sichuan University, referred to as "Sichuan University", is located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC).
The school was formed by the merger of Sichuan University, Chengdu University of Science and Technology and West China University of Medical Sciences. The former Sichuan University was founded in 1896 by Lu, Governor of Sichuan Province. It is the earliest modern institution of higher learning in southwest China. The former Chengdu University of Science and Technology was the first batch of multidisciplinary engineering colleges established during the adjustment of departments in New China.
The predecessor of the former West China University of Medical Sciences was the West China Sheikh University, which was founded by the Western Christian Church in Chengdu on 19 10. It is the earliest Western-style university in southwest China and one of the earliest universities in China to train graduate students.
1994, the former Sichuan University and the former Chengdu University of Technology merged into Sichuan United University, and 1998 restored the name of Sichuan University. In 2000, it merged with the former West China University of Medical Sciences to form a new Sichuan University.
As of June 5438+ 10, 2023, the school has three campuses, namely Wangjiang, Huaxi and Jiang 'an, covering an area of 7,050 mu, with a building area of 282 1.800 square meters. Meishan Campus is under construction. There are 6,794 teaching and research posts, with more than 37,000 full-time undergraduates and 29,000 doctoral students.

By the end of June 5438+ 10 in 2023, the school library had 8.37 million paper documents, 329 Chinese and foreign literature databases, more than 85,000 cultural relics, more than 940,000 animal and plant specimens and about 370,000 volumes of various files (including more than 9,000 precious historical files).
International communication:
By the end of June 5438+ 10, 2023, the school had persisted in running schools and constantly promoted international exchanges and cooperation, and its international influence and competitiveness had been significantly improved.
Nearly 20 international high-end scientific research cooperation platforms have been established with world-class research universities and related institutions, such as Jiuzhaigou International Research Center for Ecology and Sustainable Development of Sichuan University, Sino-German Energy Research Center of Sichuan University, Sino-British Joint Materials Research Institute of Sichuan University, European Research Center of Sichuan University, and Sino-Russian Mathematics Center-Chengdu Base.
The school and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University established the School of Post-disaster Reconstruction and Management of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University of Sichuan University and the University of Pittsburgh of Sichuan University.
