Zhengzhou University, referred to as "Zheng Da" for short, is located in Zhengzhou and is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education and the Henan Provincial People's Government. It is a world-class university construction university, a national key construction university of "2 1 1 Project" and "One University in One Province", and has been selected into the national "20 1 1 Plan" and the national high level.

By September 2020, the school has more than 5,800 faculty members, including academicians of the two academies and members of the faculty 17, and 4 overseas academicians.
