Brief Introduction of School of Journalism and Communication, Nanjing University
The Department of Journalism and Communication of Nanjing University originated from 1936 "Film and Broadcasting Specialized Course" of Jinling University, the predecessor of Nanjing University. This is the earliest film and radio education unit in China, and it is also the origin of higher education of audio-visual communication in China. Mr. Sun (191-1992), the founder of the discipline, is an outstanding news and communication educator, the founder of film education in China, the pioneer of China TV and the first member of UNESCO. 1958 Nanjing university opened a major course in journalism, which was later suspended due to temporary difficulties in the country. 1986, approved by the Ministry of Education, Nanjing University resumed its journalism major. 1992 10 was formally established, and the School of Journalism and Communication of Nanjing University was established on 10 in 2003. At present, the college has doctoral degree awarding points and master degree awarding points in journalism and communication. There are three departments: news and new media department, applied communication department and radio, film and television department. The college has research institutions such as Institute of Journalism and Politics, Institute of Communication and Society, Network Communication Research Center, Film and Television and Culture Research Center, City Image Communication Research Center, China Cultural Image Communication Research Institute, and Ogilvy & Mather Creative College of Nanjing University. It also has teaching, scientific research and discipline platforms such as Nanjing University Media Teaching Demonstration Center (national level), Jiangsu Philosophy and Social Science Research Base, Communication Department of China Nanhai Research Collaborative Innovation Center, and China Network Communication Research (CSSCI Source Collection). In 20 13, the Propaganda Department of jiangsu provincial party committee signed an agreement with Nanjing University to jointly build a school of journalism and communication, aiming at building a first-class school of journalism and communication, under the guidance of Marxist journalism, vigorously promoting institutional and institutional innovation, integrating resources, strengthening international exchanges, enhancing the comprehensive innovation ability of the news and communication departments and serving the national demand, cultivating outstanding party journalists, journalism and communication education and research talents, and striving to become a leading school of journalism and communication in China with international influence.
