5.25 Origin of College Students' Mental Health Day
May 25th is China University Students' Mental Health Day. The homonym of "May 25th" is "I love me", reminding college students to "cherish life and care for themselves". The core content is: care for yourself, know yourself, accept yourself, pay attention to your mental health and spiritual growth, improve your psychological quality, and then love others and society.

College students' concept of mental health is very vague, even misunderstood, and they will not admit that they have psychological disorders until they reach the level of drug treatment. For example, freshmen's psychological problems are adaptability and communication, sophomores and sophomores are mainly emotional interpersonal relationships and self-growth, while graduates are mainly under employment pressure. Therefore, it is more meaningful to guide them to enhance their mental health awareness and improve their self-regulation ability.

In 2000, it was initiated by the General Branch of the Department of Psychology of Beijing Normal University and the Student Union, and then more than a dozen colleges and universities responded, and with the approval of relevant departments, it was determined that May 25th was the "Mental Health Day for College Students in Beijing". "5.25" is the homonym of "I love me", and the promoter's explanation is that only by loving oneself can we love others better. In 2004, the Central School Department of the Communist Youth League and the All-China Federation of Students decided to designate May 25th of each year as the China Mental Health Festival for college and middle school students.
