It's far. The graduate school of Jiaotong University is in Xuhui Campus, here in Xujiahui (not to mention Minhang Campus, further away), and Shanghai University is in Baoshan. I come from Shanghai University. I study in Minhang Jiaotong University, which takes 2 hours by car. Please note that I take a taxi from Shanghai University to Peng Pu Xincun subway station, take 1 line to Xinzhuang, transfer to Line 5, and then take a taxi to Minhang Campus of Jiaotong University. If it is the Xuhui Campus of Jiaotong University, you can get off at Xujiahui Station on Line 1, which usually takes about an hour. If it's a branch of Shanghai University, it's closer, and it'll take half an hour. Take the subway about 10 station.
