According to official website of Zhejiang Jinhua Normal University, this university is located in Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province. It is a comprehensive provincial key university focusing on teacher education and a key construction university in Zhejiang Province. Its predecessor was Hangzhou Normal University, which was founded in 1956 and upgraded to Hangzhou Normal University in 1958. This is the second university.

Jinhua Normal School, referred to as Jinhua Normal School for short, is the predecessor of Jinhua Vocational and Technical College. Founded in 1907, 19 13, it was changed to a provincial school, which was called the seventh normal school in Zhejiang Province. Yiwu Normal School, founded by 1998 and 1956, merged to join Jinhua Vocational and Technical College.
