The school was established 1956, 1958 for undergraduate courses. Over the past 60 years, the school has been rooted in Qilu, adhering to the school motto of "being knowledgeable and building a foundation" and the school spirit of "being diligent and rigorous, uniting and innovating", condensing characteristics and cultivating advantages. Now it has developed into a multi-disciplinary university with engineering as the main subject, civil architecture as the feature, engineering, management, grammar, agronomy and other disciplines intersecting and developing in a coordinated way.
