Brief introduction of Southwest University for Nationalities
Southwest University for Nationalities is a university directly under the central government and affiliated to the State Ethnic Affairs Committee. Founded in July 1950, formally established in June 195 1 year, and renamed as Southwest University for Nationalities in April 2003. It is a comprehensive ethnic higher education institution with 12 disciplines, such as literature, history, philosophy, economics, management, law, teaching, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and arts. As one of the highest institutions of learning in China University for Nationalities, the school has always adhered to the purpose of serving ethnic work and the construction of top ethnic talents in China, and is known as the "cradle of China ethnic elites".
The school is located in splendid Chengdu, known as the land of abundance and the capital of hibiscus, adjacent to the famous Wuhou Temple at home and abroad. Southwest University for Nationalities is one of the earliest ethnic colleges established after the founding of New China under the personal care of proletarian revolutionaries of the older generation, such as Zhou Enlai, Deng Xiaoping and Wang Weizhou, and is now in charge of the State Ethnic Affairs Commission.
