South-Central University for Nationalities (hereinafter referred to as South-Central University for Nationalities) is a comprehensive general institution of higher learning directly under the State Ethnic Affairs Commission. Established by the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Education, China Academy of Sciences, Hubei Province and Wuhan City, it was selected as the "National First-class University" in Hubei Province. The school is located in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, and is currently the Party Secretary and President Li Jinlin. [1] The school motto is "Believe in learning and be born tolerant".
As of September 2022, the school covers an area of 1.550 mu, with a building area of 1.65438 million square meters and more than 2,200 teaching and administrative staff. There are 22 colleges, [4]4 first-class doctoral programs, 25 academic first-class master programs, 20 professional master programs and 82 undergraduate enrollment programs, covering 10 disciplines.
South-Central University for Nationalities, the predecessor of the school, was founded in 195 1. It is one of the earliest universities for nationalities established after the founding of New China. [3] In March 2002, it was officially renamed as South-Central University for Nationalities.
By 2022, South-Central University for Nationalities will rank second in China University for Nationalities.
