Zhejiang University of Technology is the first university built by the Ministry of Education in the eastern coastal areas. It is the first batch of universities led by the National Innovation Ability Enhancement Plan (20 1 1 Plan) and the first batch of key universities built in Zhejiang Province. The school was founded in 1953, and its predecessor can be traced back to Zhejiang secondary technical school founded by 19 10. It has experienced the development stages of Hangzhou-Suizao Sunzhou Chemical School, Zhejiang Institute of Chemical Technology, Zhejiang Institute of Chemical Technology and Zhejiang Institute of Technology, and was renamed Zhejiang University of Technology on 1993.
