Ritsumeikan Information Science and Technology is a major established in response to the social requirements of cultivating talents in the information and communication department who can be active in the global scope. The Department of Information Science and Technology of Ritsumeikan University was established in 2004. After that, the university also set up the information science and technology specialty in the early course and the comprehensive science and technology specialty in the later course under the Ministry of Science and Technology Research. The information science and technology major of Ritsumeikan University not only cultivates talents with knowledge and technology in related fields, but also can see the social trends clearly and create talents suitable for high service and meeting social needs.

Ritsumeikan Information Technology Research Course:

1. Pre-doctoral course: computer science course for information science majors. The course of computer science focuses on computer architecture, software technology and information network technology, so as to conduct research in the fields of interpersonal interaction and cognitive engineering.

2. Pre-doctoral course: humanities information science for information science majors. The course of human information science carries out media processing technologies such as language, voice and portrait, as well as educational research in the fields of virtual reality, intelligent media, ergonomics and intelligent robot technology.

3. Postdoctoral course: information science and technology.
