The role of the first paragraph: always play the following roles.

Running all my life for the original poem:

The "Jialing Academy" located in Nankai University has recently been capped. This quadrangle, covering an area of about 500 square meters, was built for Ye Jiaying, a professor at Nankai University and a writer of classical literature in China. Ye Jiaying, 90 years old, is known as Jialing. In her plan, the school house is not a house, a bit like an ancient academy, a place for teaching and doing research.

Ye Jiaying traveled all his life, engaged in the teaching, research and promotion of classical poetry. She said that this time she will finally have her own "home".

Forty years, a long way home.

Ye Jiaying's longing for home turned out to be an emotion accumulated for forty years.

1974, Ye Jiaying returned to his hometown from Vancouver for the first time. "I was disappointed at that time because I could only travel back to China and could not make any contribution to my motherland." On that trip home, she wrote a 2,700-word long poem "A Journey to the Motherland": "After thirty years away from home in Wan Li, I was homesick all the time. Once I came back from heaven with tears in my eyes and ecstasy in my heart ... "

1in late spring of 978, Ye Jiaying wrote to the domestic education department to apply for teaching in China. At this time, she has lived in Vancouver for nearly 10 years and has been employed as a tenured professor at the University of British Columbia in Canada for a long time. 1979, her application was approved, and she can finally use her holiday time to give lectures in China.

When Ye Jiaying returned to China to teach for the first time, he bought a blue Chinese coat in Hongkong. Standing on the podium of the motherland, facing the dark students in the audience, she has noble manners, full of passion and tactfully speaks Beijing dialect. She likes to write while talking, from one side of the blackboard to the other. The blackboard is full of chalk words, which are written and erased, erased and written. Because of allergies, her hands are always cracked because of too much chalk. At that time, her hands were often covered with tape.

Like a migratory bird, Ye Jiaying flies around, and her figure appears in dozens of universities such as Nankai University, Tianjin University, Nanjing University, Fudan University, Sichuan University, Yunnan University and Wuhan University. Until 2002, she finally got a permanent residence permit in China. For her hometown, she is finally no longer a passer-by.

Last year, Nankai University held the Lotus Festival, and the school decided to build a "Jialing Academy" for Ye Jiaying. She specially wrote a poem to express her gratitude: "I became attached to Nankai and called me a lotus." I will never be embarrassed to live in horseshoe lake. " She said that "never be a good girl" in the poem contains three wishes: one is that she will take this place as her long-term home and never be far away; The second is to "encourage yourself without violating" with the virtue of the lotus gentleman in the lake; The third is my best wishes to young students, because "although people can be old, they are endless, and the meaning and value of life are nothing more than that."

For seventy years, I have been running for ancient poetry all my life.

"I have loved classical poetry all my life." Ye Jiaying said that classical poetry is the precious wealth of traditional culture. "I didn't fulfill the responsibility of inheritance. I am sorry for the ancients and sorry for the newcomers. " Since 1948 taught in a middle school in Beijing, Ye Jiaying has been inheriting classical poetry for nearly 70 years, and so has it when he settled in Canada.

In Canada, there are more than a dozen foreign graduate students studying China's classical poems with Ye Jiaying, and she also brought a group of foreign students who don't know Chinese at all. "1969, the first two students I taught were originally going to study at the University of California, but later they went to Canada to study because they opposed the Vietnam War. The University of British Columbia didn't find a suitable tutor for a while, so I came and asked me to teach them. " Ye Jiaying said that she touched these international students with her nonstandard English and her true feelings and sincerity about poetry.

"I am a person who likes to play' running wild horses' at will during lectures, but I have to teach in English and lose the fun of playing casually." Ye Jiaying described his embarrassment when he was speaking poetry abroad. She also wrote a seven-character quatrain for this purpose: "What is the cloud with Pengfei Tan, compassion for people." The south of Beihai is full of the past, and I will talk about it for the rest of my life. "

Ye Jiaying has always believed that the roots of classical poetry are in the mainland, and no matter how well he speaks English, he can't really explain the profound meaning in poetry. "It is difficult to explain clearly to international students the infinite meaning and artistic conception in' picking chrysanthemums under the east fence and seeing Nanshan leisurely'."

Over the years, even though she paid for the plane ticket herself, Ye Jiaying never stopped running around. She wants to tell more people about the beauty of China's poems. Ye Jiaying said that she had been working again for more than 30 years, not now, but at that time, no one paid attention. "Now I suddenly know Ye Jiaying, I am looking for you, I am looking for you. As a result, I am old but busier. " She deliberately said, "I can't fully meet the requirements of some friends, and I hope everyone will forgive me."

When it comes to Ye Jiaying, people often call her a scholar or a writer, but Ye Jiaying admits that he never wanted to be a scholar or a poet. "Because the achievements of scholars and poets are generally personal, often just personal pursuit, and I am not. I didn't do it for myself. " The old man said, "My lifelong ambition is to pass on beautiful poems to the next generation."

2000 hours, finishing the recording of lifelong lectures.

Since returning to the motherland, Ye Jiaying's work has become busier.

Looking at Ye Jiaying's bibliography again, from the publication of Jialing Poems in 1982 to the publication of Jialing Poetry Lectures in 2007, she has completed more than 30 monographs on poetry. "When I was in trouble in my early years, there was only a desk like a student in the corridor, a small chair, front legs on the ground, and hind legs on the straw mat. Some of my early articles, which look very poetic, were actually written in that environment. " Ye Jiaying said flatly.

In recent years, Nankai University has become an important base for studying and popularizing classical poetry in Ye Jiaying. 1993, she was invited to be the director of China Institute of Classical Culture of Nankai University, and donated half of her pension, about 654.38+million US dollars (900,000 RMB at that time), to establish Tuoan Scholarship and Yan Yong Academic Fund.

Ye Jiaying's research institute was established completely from scratch. "At that time, the school had no funds, and it didn't even have a decent office. We only have an old classroom. Teacher Cui Baoheng and Ms. An Yi from the Chinese Department came to help and cleaned it before putting it into use. " Later, Ye Jiaying's difficulties gradually became known to the outside world. 1996, Cai, a Canadian Chinese entrepreneur, generously donated more than 2 million yuan for the Gai Lou Institute, and Shen, another Macao industrialist, donated100000 yuan to buy books and equipment.

Today, Ye Jiaying is engaged in a huge project. "I have been teaching for 70 years, and my lectures and speeches have been recorded for more than 2,000 hours over the years. If I am in a foreign country, it is not easy to listen to my Chinese. " Ye Jiaying said that many years ago, she moved these tapes into Nankai University one after another. At present, the students are helping to organize, and she is busy proofreading.

"I am 90 years old, and my doctoral students have to go on for several years, and my energy is declining year by year. I told the school that I would not enroll students this year. " Ye Jiaying said, but she will also give lectures to students who have not yet graduated.

However, there is one thing that she can't let go. Starting from 1998, Ye Jiaying proposed that poetry singing and swimming classes should be offered from kindergarten to the third grade of primary school, so that children can recite poems while playing and lay a good foundation for humanities. Regrettably, this initiative has not been fully implemented. But Ye Jiaying said she wouldn't give up.
