The minimum enrollment age of registered students depends on the department, generally 17 years old. There is no academic requirement, but students majoring in instrumental music can relax to 15 years old if they have talent and foundation. Those who study music education must be students at school. If you apply for vocal or instrumental music, you don't have to be a student, but you must go to Vienna for an interview. The school doesn't charge registration fees or interview fees (any examination fee is an intermediary fee), but applicants have to pay the examination fees in Vienna.
