Grade a: A * AA

2. Portfolio requirements
All applicants invited to the interview should show their latest portfolio during the interview, but it is best not to be related to architecture. The admissions counselor wants to see something that can explain your interest, experience and ability in visual and material arts. This may include painting, printing, sculpture and/or photography. Usually enough to show three-dimensional works in photos.
The sketch book being drawn is very useful, and we encourage applicants to participate in the interview. It can be in any media (pencil, charcoal, crayons, etc.). ) and should include various subjects. This job can prepare for the school-leaving exam, but it also welcomes creative work outside the formal curriculum. Different universities have different requirements for portfolios. Please refer to the websites of departments and colleges for further guidance.
3. Entrance examination
If there is an interview, all construction applicants must participate in written and practical evaluation during the interview.
Evaluation form: writing ability (30 minutes), graphic and spatial ability (30 minutes).
Second, the introduction of learning environment

3. What kind of students are we looking for?
You must be passionate about both art and science. The ability of painting and interest in art and architectural history are very important, at least in GCSE standards, there is a good knowledge of mathematics.
It is impossible to take architecture as an adjunct course (that is, one year less than usual). However, if you have completed your undergraduate studies in other universities and now want to study architecture at Cambridge University, you can apply for a full three-year course. (In this case, there is generally no need to pay college fees separately. Please consult one of the mature colleges as soon as possible to apply.
Fourth, extra course fees.
1 extra expenses for grade: scientific calculator recognized by the university, professional drawing and modeling equipment, materials/professional printing of workshop course drawings and models, and the estimated cost is 550 yuan. Compulsory study travel (travel and accommodation expenses funded by the department, students need to pay their own living expenses), and the estimated cost is 100- 150 (living expenses).
Extra expenses for Grade 2: Material/professional printing of the drawings and models of the studio courses, estimated at 450 pounds, and voluntary study tour, estimated at 200 pounds.
Extra expenses for the third grade: materials/professional printing of drawings and models of studio courses and papers, estimated at 500 pounds, and voluntary study trip, estimated at 200 pounds.
Many graduates continue to receive professional training, but some enter other creative fields or research. We have a long and excellent tradition in research, including history and architectural philosophy, environmental protection design, architecture and moving images, urban design and traffic planning, and disaster relief.
V. Detailed explanation of annual courses
You teach in our studio. You have your own special design space, two days a week. In the meantime, you need to set up a project and ask you to make models and drawings to convey your ideas. You can supervise the work of the studio in personal tutorials and group comments, which can encourage you to explore different methods and develop the necessary design skills. The resulting portfolio accounts for 60% of your total trademark every year. Lectures, courses and visits to completed buildings or buildings under construction/restoration will cover the rest of the course. In addition to two studio days, in the first year of study, you usually attend six to seven lectures a week; There are three classes and three groups to supervise every two weeks. You need to finish your paper and get ready.
1. First year course
The work of the studio introduces the possibility of architecture, focusing on understanding and developing the proficiency of traditional architectural expression patterns, models, collages, viewpoints, facades and parts. You have also mastered the basic CAD skills used in the studio presentation. Easter holidays usually organize study tours abroad.
You need five courses: introduction to architectural history/theory (before 1800), introduction to architectural history/theory (after 1800), basic principles of construction, basic principles of structural design and basic principles of environmental design. The assessment is conducted through course assignments and written tests.
2. Second-year curriculum
You can choose from various courses of studio work, from painting research and indoor intervention to buildings of reasonable size. The key point is to combine the technical skills learned in the IA and IB lectures with the output of your studio. Usually voluntary study tours are provided. In addition, you will learn four papers based on your understanding of the first part (IA): theoretical research on history and architecture, urban planning and design, construction principles, structural design principles and environmental design principles. First, you submit two papers and take a written test. The other three papers are evaluated by written examination.
3. The third grade curriculum
You can choose three kinds of studio courses with different methods, but all of them require you to do architectural design at the end of the year, and its technical realization should be combined with a coherent framework concept method. Similarly, voluntary study tours are usually provided. Four lectures-based papers * * * account for 20% of the total score: advanced research on the history and theory of architecture and urbanization, management, practice and law, advanced research on structural analysis and environmental design related to case studies, architectural engineering (completely passed the course examination), and 7000-9000 words written papers in your selected subject account for the remaining 20% of your score.
