Kaili College is located in Kaili City, Guizhou Province, the capital of the beautiful Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, which is known as "the state of forest, the state of singing and dancing, and the state of magic".
It is a full-time public undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. It is a pilot unit for the transformation and development of ordinary undergraduate colleges in Guizhou Province and a construction unit for the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" project in Guizhou Province. Kaili College originated from Qiandongnan University and was founded in 1958. 1959 was renamed Qiandongnan Teachers College, and it was renamed many times later. 1978 the State Council approved the restoration and reconstruction of Qiandongnan Normal University for Nationalities, 1993 the Ministry of Education approved the renaming of Qiandongnan Normal University for Nationalities.
In 2002, Guizhou Provincial People's Government approved the cooperation between Qiandongnan Prefecture People's Government and Guizhou Normal University to establish Kaili College of Guizhou Normal University to carry out undergraduate education. In February 2006, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Qiandongnan Teachers College for Nationalities was upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college, named Kaili College.
