I. Historical evolution

On July 4th, 20 1 1, the school was formed by the merger of the former Shandong Institute of Economics and the former Shandong Institute of Finance, and was officially inaugurated on June 9th, 20 12. Li Lanqing, Jiang Chunyun, Bingqian Wang and Chen Zhili, leaders of the Party and the state, wrote personal inscriptions to congratulate them.

Shandong Institute of Finance and Economics, the predecessor of Shandong Institute of Economics, was founded in 1952. It was formed by the merger of Shandong Institute of Accounting and cheeloo university Department of Economics. It is the earliest financial college in Shandong Province and one of the earliest financial colleges in China.

During the Cultural Revolution, Shandong University of Finance and Economics was closed. 1978, with the approval of the State Council, the school resumed its operation and changed its name to Shandong Institute of Economics. 1993, awarded master's degree. Shandong University of Finance and Economics was founded in 1986, and its name was inscribed by Comrade Deng Xiaoping.
