Wei Toshiba's research direction
Professor Wei Toshiba and his academic team's main research directions are biocatalytic engineering and biopharmaceutical engineering. Among them, biocatalysis engineering mainly includes the acquisition of new biocatalysts, the in vitro evolution of enzymes and the development of enzyme functions, the immobilization technology of enzymes or cells and the engineering research of biocatalysis process, with special emphasis on the application of genetic engineering bacteria and their enzymes, and the combination of genetic engineering and biocatalysis engineering to carry out the research of aqueous and non-aqueous biocatalysis processes, including enzymatic transesterification, ester synthesis, oligosaccharide synthesis and chiral synthesis/resolution. Biopharmaceutical engineering mainly includes the cloning and efficient expression of protein/polypeptide drugs and enzymes. Study on stability, culture and fermentation process engineering of genetically engineered bacteria: research on large-scale preparation platform technology of biotechnology drugs.
