Tibet University for Nationalities is two universities.

Tibet University for Nationalities is located in Xianyang, the ancient capital of Weihe River. Its predecessor was 1957, which was established by the central government, and 1958 was the "Tibet Public School". On April 30th, 1965, it was renamed "Tibet Institute for Nationalities" with the approval of the State Council. On April 28th, 20 15, it was renamed "Tibet University for Nationalities" with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

There are 14 teaching units, including College of Arts, College of Nationalities, School of Law, School of Journalism and Communication, School of Marxism, School of Finance and Economics, School of Management, School of Information Engineering, School of Education, School of Foreign Languages, School of Physical Education, Ministry of Medicine, Graduate School and College of Continuing Education.

There are two campuses, the Acropolis and the Qin and Han Dynasties, and a practical teaching base has been established in Lhasa, with a campus area of 1 149 mu (including 544 mu in the Qin and Han Dynasties) and a total construction area of 488,973 square meters (under construction154,000 square meters).
