Was Zhang Xueliang's ancestor adopted from the surname Li?
In the last century, a family named Li in Dacheng County, Hejianfu, Hebei Province adopted their son to the Zhang family. This man named Zhang Tianda gave birth to a son, Zhang Yungui, the tenth generation of the Zhang family. During the Daoguang period of the Qing Dynasty, Zhang Yungui took the people who were going to Guandong to Haicheng and Fengtian (now Haicheng, Liaoning) outside Shanhaiguan. The thirteenth generation of the Zhang family was born in Haicheng, called Zhang. The sixth child of the fourteenth generation was also born here. His name is Zhang Xueliang. During Daoguang period of Qing Dynasty, Zhang Xueliang's great-grandfather Zhang Yungui had no permanent property and suffered from natural disasters, so he had to join the tide of crossing the Kanto. According to the textual research of Yang Shubiao, a professor of history at Zhejiang University, his time of traveling eastward was between 1820 and 1850. For this wave of refugees, Yang Shubiao also found a record of "fleeing beggars filling canals and dying beside the official road" in the relevant files of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Yungui and his family had no less hardships along the way than the Zhu Kaishan family in the hit TV series "Going East", and the bumps along the way eventually "ended in Haicheng". The Zhang family, with all their possessions, settled in Xixiaowa Village, Haicheng County, Fengtian, and made a living on this fertile black land with farm tools brought from Hebei-farming. They were sent to Shunzhi County, Haicheng County for ten years (1653), which was one of the earliest administrative institutions established in Northeast China after the founding of the Qing Dynasty. Zhang Yungui's family lived a stable but not rich life by working. His son Zhang Fa gave birth to another son, named Zhang Youcai. Yang Shubiao told New Century Weekly: "From Zhang Youcai, the Zhang family stopped farming for a living. He began to work as an' insurance' in the' insurance team', and his lifestyle was no longer as simple as farming when his ancestors entered Kanto. With a few pennies in their hands, they not only like eating and drinking, but also indulge in gambling. In his son Zhang's generation, they continue to do "insurance" and can only rely on gambling. In Tang Degang's Oral History of Zhang Xueliang, Zhang Xueliang, who is over 90 years old, recalled his father's claim that he made a living by "protecting" his village when he was young. Under the contemporary commercial behavior, Zhang's work of protecting village safety is naturally different from that of security companies. It is a non-governmental organization that can be established by three or five people. I dare to rely on my "specialty" or just some fancy gestures to collect insurance premiums from house to house in the village, provided that the village is not taken away by foreign forces. However, Zhang's kung fu seems to be excellent. When he was young, he had a gun battle with another force. Zhang's burden was heavy, but he was seriously injured. However, he shot and killed his opponent who came to grab the territory, so more than a dozen people brought by the other side took his surname Zhang, but the expansion of this power was accompanied by life-threatening. When Zhang Xueliang recalled the livelihood of his ancestors after they invaded Kanto, he said to Tang Degang: "None of my family members died of serious illness in bed, and my father cried when he mentioned this." .
