Shanxi Medical University, formerly known as Shanxi Medical College, was founded in the ancient city of Bingzhou, 19 19. 1932 changed to private Shanxi Chuanzhi Medical College. 1940 changed its name to medical major of Shanxi University. 1946 was upgraded to National Medical College of Shanxi University. After the founding of New China, the school entered a brand-new development period. 1953 Independent school, renamed Shanxi Medical College. 1996 changed its name to Shanxi Medical University.
Shanxi Medical University is the third batch of authorized units for doctor's degree in China, the first batch of authorized units for master's degree in Shanxi Province, the first batch of authorized units for bachelor's degree in China, and the first batch of pilot units of the "Excellent Doctor Education and Training Program" of the Ministry of Education.
